San Fran Union Square

Day or night it's not the most pleasant, to bad because it's a cool spot.

 

I'll be visiting Union Square area for a work trip for 4 days at the end of January. I've visited that area in the past a couple of times a number of years ago and never had any problems with walking the area. Has it gotten a lot worse? Still safe to walk around at night (for a 46 yr old male)?

Bartlett is close to the conference I'll be at (Hilton) but Mikkeller, Cellarmaker, and City Beer are further walks.

 

Yes, safe to walk. You will likely see things you could do without seeing, but that is generally as far as it goes. That said, walk to Mikkeller and Bartlett, Uber/Lyft to Cellarmaker and City Beer.

 

Beer hall is also near by. Walkable.

 

I don't see that in places. Do you mean Beer Basement?

Also, Is Hopwater a place I should seek out?

 

Hope wAter has a solid tap list and tasty food.

Beer Hall is on market, across from the Twitter building.
