I hear satan himself actually helps them with recipe creation and business planning. Makes all of this nefarious activity much more sensible...

Of course, satanic ritual could also really be the only way to de-coffee a coffee stout.

Tinfoil hats aside, this new Cinnamon Bun stout sounds delicious. I'll be picking up a bottle for Friday. Christmas decorating and new Martin Scorcese movie pairs well with this, I hear.

Chick peas are the main ingredient in Hummus... And some hummus recipes don't even have tahini (pass). I love a good tahini sauce myself, but in a beer? Hmmm...

The proper name of Hummus translates exactly to ‘Chickpeas with Tahini’. Hummus without Tahini is not real.

109 (52+57) not sure if that really counts

Trillium validates too. It’s still not free but much cheaper than without validation.

I believe I read a response from them on twitter that 109 was in fact a separately brewed beer, not merely a blend of 52+57, but that the flavor reminded them of what a cross between 52 and 57 would be (and that was likely the goal from the start), so I'd say 109 counts as its own thing.

Sorry boys, its was 59 degrees and they had me outdoors working today. Otherwise I would have chimed in when I got the email.

I definitely thought coffee cake was next, and perhaps this was the base. We will see if the next one is BA coffee cake. If not, they likely blended their barrels and added some other sugary adjuncts to bring the yeast back to life for bottle carbonation creating this. But we shall see. I'll pry it out of someone working there when I pick up my bottles.

Just popped a BA AJ. Damn this beer is good. Basically tastes like dark chocolate and nuts. The barrel is subtle buts it’s present and the 14% just disappears

Since coffee usually fades over a year, I can see that possibly what they did is barrel age the coffee cake without the coffee or perhaps at least not adding the coffee for the barrel treatment. Thus we have a new beer now, BA coffee cake without the coffee, er, BA cinnamon raisin bun. A raisin taste in a stout, especially barrel aged does not signify infection. An infected stout is sour. A raisin or dried/dark fruit taste is pretty typical.

JC has posted here saying for their BA beers they usually are "spiced" post barrel treatment.

I don't get how people dont realize they are getting completely hoodwinked here. If they are "spicing" beers post barrel...... they are just adding sugar or whatever adjunct. Its like adding jimmies and cookie bits on ice cream. $26 for basically sugar beer. If you want something sweet just have dessert its probably less calories anyways. The whole dessert stout craze blows my mind, but thats millenials for you. Hey you like what you like, its a free country.

If you want alcohol you can just drink whiskey too, but you know, preferences and stuff.

Unless you were confused by the 'jimmies' reference. Jimmies are what 99% of the civilized world would refer to as 'sprinkles'.

Pretty sure it's the Gen Xers that are drinking the dessert stouts.

Had to resist dropping ok, boomer there. This individual apparently gets cheesed about adding toppings to ice cream.
