Walked into Top Hops a bit before 1pm and they still had 4+ cases of 2-year reserve. Was not expecting that and was just running errands near by. Got a few things on tap ('17 - BCBCS) and more than hit my quota of BC for the year.

Might have something to do with their insane pricing.

Westside Market on 3rd Ave scrapped all their limits at 4pm once their regulars got sorted. They have a plenty of 2018 variants as well.

yeah, it’a unfortunately due to their high pricing this year. Ive waiting in that line previous years, As I didnt mind guaranteeing myself bottles, but with the markup this year I skipped it, along with the 4-6 people i normally do it with.

Not sure about general availability, but the Gowanus Whole Foods head regular, Ole, Mon Cheri, and Wheatwine for very reasonable prices. I'd assume other Whole Foods carrying those as well.

I guess I didn't have reference for the pricing for previous years since I never wanted to wait to buy it. Oh well.

Makes sense. It’s unfortunate as my friends and I usually make it an enjoyable time at TH, oh well. At least there is still Carmine St release on monday.

Wegmans (Navy Yard) had plenty of regular, Ole and Mon Cheri last night. Where I live (Ithaca) we almost never get variants, so this was an unexpectedly surprise.

Based on your intel, I rolled thru yesterday evening. As I was standing by the end cap, a guy in his (I presume) 60's walks up to me staring down the prices. In a flabbergasted manner, he asks me if the price posted for Mon Cheri was for the entire case. I tell him that the posted price is per bottle, then commence my tirade of how back in the day, BCBS regular used to be $21.99/4-pack and very few people would spend that kind of money on beer then, so it sat on shelves year round (which sadly, still happens today, but b/c of retailer decisions). He asks me if it takes like Guinness, to which I reply "its more of a kick in the dick" and point out the 14.7% ABV. Anyway, by the end of our conversation, he had a bottle of BCBS in his cart. I'd say it's 50/50 odds if that bottle actually made it to check out; if it did, I hope he enjoyed the experience as much as I have over the years.

I definitely vote for “BCBS Kick In The Dick” Variant next year. Aged on smelling salts and ghost peppers.

Did Goose Island raise the prices or something? I swear regular old BCBS used to be 10.99 in WF. BCBBW was like 13.99 back when the last released it too.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit high.

With tax and deposit this won't get under 10 a bottle on 20% off beer day!

Case cost for retailers went up from $84 to $109 for regular. The varients were all over $200 a case except for wheatwine and reserve rye which were around $150 a case
