Doing my best to scour the beer shops in North England. I'm struggling. It's available for pre-order on BeerHawk for £20. Seeing as I was pre-ordering, I couldn't resist the gift pack for £29.99 with limited edition glass. Very excited, although no release date listed yet - hope it travels well!

Here in Omaha today, I made the rounds this morning. I picked up 8 bottles of regular BCBS and the packaged 3 year vertical set.. For variants- 7 bottles of Cafe’ de Olla, 4 bottles of Mon Ch’erie, 3 bottles of the Wheatwine, 1 bottle of 2019 Reserve Rye and one bottle of 2015 Reserve Rye..

I’m pretty happy with the haul this year and glad to have scored so many bottles of the coffee variant. The Omaha area got a heavy supply of Cafe’ de Olla and a nice supply of the Ch’erie..

    Cheers!

After hitting three stores in an hour, I bagged 1 regular, 2 Wheatwine, 3 Mon Cheri, and 5 Cafe de olla. A fourth store is saving me another Mon Cheri that I may pick up in the morning. I could have gotten more, but sense eventually prevailed since I haven't had Mon Cheri or Cafe de olla yet. A store within crawling distance of my house was supposed to get a bunch of variants, and based on the past will have them for a few days yet since the store is in a small town not big on craft. So, tempting once I try the new ones.

I paid $11.99 for regular, $24.99ea for Cafe de olla and Mon Cheri, and $16.99 for Wheatwine all at one store. Prices probably varied at another store, and TBH I never asked the price, and forgot a receipt. FOMO frenzy. I left the house at 6:30 and was home by 9:30.

You're correct. I have not had the displeasure of Northwoods. I really miss the days I could count on the classics _ OG BCBS BCCS BCBS (barleywine)

Since when is barleywine a classic?

My first encounter was '12 and I enjoyed it immensely. Feel free to disagree but that lineup is what I cut my teeth on. Perhaps you have a different or more recent experience that you feel better qualifies

It's all relative. To me it's the new kid on the block.

Call me an old soul but I tend to lean on the argument "newer ain't always better." GI is on a slippery slope with this over-reaching BC program...they've moved away from time/quality tested product to downright blind folded deep end over reaching crap without any good market QA

Perhaps I misread your response...new kid on the block perhaps...compared to all these other new adjunct GI beers I consider it "old school"

I got a Regular, a Coffee and a Mon Cheri for like $59 total which seems very fair according to this thread.

when people say coffee, I'm assuming they're meaning cafe de olla. is there an actual coffee-only version this year?

I wish- seems like that should be a no-brainer, but alas, no its just the olla.

Pre-2015 Bourbon County Barleywine is 100% classic status in my book.

Bourbon County Barleywine isnt a classic. Pete's wicked ale? Classic. Anchor steam? Classic. Utopias have barrels from 20 years ago being blended in. It's relatively new is all I'm saying.

He's not saying BCBBA is a classic beer in and of itself, but rather a "classic" Bourbon County variant. I can go along with that.

What’s the deal with the ABV on regular 2019 BCBS? I see one listing on BA but two on Untappd, one for 14.7% and the other for 15.2%. Is this an oversight or are these two separate variants?

There's two different batches, both released at the same time. When you're blending this much beer for a huge release, it's probably impossible to get it all at the same abv. Someone more knowledgeable than me can probably chime in.

Until they reintroduce the coffee variant and the barleywine, I'm out on spending $25+ for these 'new' variants. In fact, first time in 4+ yrs I didnt go camp out and stand in line at 6am.

There’s a Kroger next door to a Total Wine and the TW has Cafe de Olla and Mon Cheri each for $25.99 (same goes for all the 12 TW’s in Houston) and the Kroger has the same two variants for $21.99. That’s the cheapest I’ve heard of those this year. The Wheatwine was $17.99 at TW.

I dropped by a TW around lunch and they had the regular and wheat wine on the front counter. I didnt even look at the price of the wheatwiine since I had no interest based on last year, so just grabbed a few regulars at 12.99.
