Is Ryeway brewery only or is it going to see similar distro to straight jacket and the deth beers?

"There will be wide distribution of Deth’s Tar, Café Deth, and Straight Jacket cans to select retail accounts, along with limited distribution of Deth by Plums, Ten Year Beer, and Ryeway to Heaven." according to https://revbrew.com/deeper-into-the-wood

Possibly the best ever to ever come out of the deep woods series. Magic batch.

Idk how you'd want a more coffee forward beer. Unless yours has been roasting in some oven there should be a ton of coffee still left.

I’m confused as well. What coffee stouts are you comparing to?

He's saying there's TOO much coffee, it's thin and there is no barrel presence. So it is unbalanced for him and he doesn't understand all the praise it is getting.

Not sure what other coffee stouts he's comparing to, but I can see how someone would feel that way seeing as we all have unique palates.

Let's start with comparing the body to that of BCBS...I haven't had this year's DT, but historically DT and oatmeal stouts in general are thinner bodies than BCBS.

I actually don't see this as a negative, and maybe you don't either but I know some people do. I feel like a lot of people are constantly chasing that super THICCC stout but that makes it tough to manage 12 or more ounces solo. I like that a lot of the Deep Wood series derives its quality through complexity of flavor, not just mouthfeel and adjuncts like so many BA beers

agreed, it was phenomenal, definitely changed my perception of barleywine.

going back to cafe, i didn't think i was being confusing. i enjoy a strong coffee presence in my stouts, but it didn't have the other aforementioned qualities i expect in a top tier BA stout.

i found reg deth to deliver more of what i expect overall.

I have never heard of Ryeway To Heaven classified as a barleywine, but as a ryewine or rye ale.

Rev's description is: "RYEWAY TO HEAVEN (2017) / RYE ALE AGED IN RYE BARRELS

Brewed with over 60% rye, this limited production rye ale has a seductively ample body which suggests sweetness while retaining a dry finish. Aged 12 months in American Rye Whiskey barrels, this “Ryewine” as we call it, is wholly unique in its malt and barrel-derived complexities."

Did we just become worst enemies?

I love coffee forward beers though...BCBCS was always my favorite variant every year, even when people complain of green peppers. This years cafe is very coffee forward and I love it

@Veliksta1 Any pricing info for this next release? My guess is Ryeway $30, VSOD $35, and Boss Jacket $35

Likewise! Stopped in at the brewery a week and a half ago to pick up some SJ for a friend to get myself over the threshold!
