Anyone remember Adventure, a text based game from the late 70's - at that time it ran on DEC PDP 10's and eventually got ported over to MSDOS. Also was known as Colossal Cave Adventure, or just Advent. "YOU ARE IN A MAZE OF TWISTY LITTLE PASSAGES, ALL ALIKE".

Lol, I'm probably dating myself - I remember toggling in the boot address on DEC PDP-8's and loading the paper MOP. I worked for DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) for over 30 years.

Sadly, Veil does not distribute. You have to go to the brewery if you want their brews. They will not even fill a growler. Kinda sucks but whatever the business model it has made the owners filthy rich.

Every once in awhile, I see that Growlers to Go may have a Veil brew. Thing is even though their business is to fill growlers, they will not fill a growler with a Veil beer. You have to order and drink on premises a pint at a time.

That came out about the same time as the original 'Oregon Trail' came right?

[IMG] Singlecut Beersmiths Desert! Poured into a 13 oz Snulip glass on draft not sure when it was kegged. Pours a very attractive dark yellow with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves an abundance of lace behind as it slowly settles into a thin film. 4.75

Smell strawberry, blueberry, apricot, tangerine, and grapefruit rind. Very nice. 4.5

Taste follows strawberry, blueberry, tangerine, apricot, and just a hint of grapefruit really well balanced and mild bitterness. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, sticky from all the fresh hops not dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 7.7% ABV goes down really easy but loaded with flavor. 4.75

Overall this is excellent just happened to run into on draft out of the blue. Don’t let the name scare you and the strawberry and blueberry aren’t over the top, really nicely balanced. 4.5

I figured I should probably put my beer drinking where my beer recommendations were, so:
Upland -- Teddy Bear Kisses. Drinkin' 10% ABV dark chocolate y'all!

I don't remember that one. When you ran Advent, you just got a ">" prompt and you could type in commands like Go left, go right, go west, look etc .. it was actually a pretty interesting and entertaining game. No graphics at all.

So you might type "Go Left" and get a response like "You're in a large room with 3 doors. There are stairs leading down". So you're basically exploring a large virtual environment but it's solely described in text. Ha, I spent hours playing that game and trying to map out the virtual world.

A couple from Half Acre (I’m finishing the stout as I type this), first up a very nice German Pilsner .....

..... followed up by the aforementioned stout, a truly roasty, bitter American Stout.
