    look: 3.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

    Dark copper body (nearly brown), decently dense head, lasting but relatively thin. Excellent roasted dark grain smell; browned waffles and maple syrup; fresh ground coffee. The taste mimics the smell; maple syrup sweet with some roasted grain char; a bit boozy. Heavy body; syrupy but also a wee bit fizzy; a bit hot with the alcohol; rather sweet overall.

    The brewery pretty much nailed the waffle and maple syrup aspects of this beer with the smell and taste, but the appearance and mouthfeel are a bit weak. The taste also suffers some from the alcohol presence coming across a tad hot and strong. I bet this beer may have been better served going the ale route instead of an amped-up Vienna lager. Well, it remains interesting and is different.

    Great Divide American Lager (568ml can, 5% ABV, brewed in Denver, Colorado). Malty, a bit sweet, bready, light grassiness, crisp, and clean. Easy drinking, just like the can suggests.

    You know when bissel brothers come to NYC I have to get my fill. The Nuclear Whim with the Fuse of a Mile is a 7.6% IPA utilizing the small amount of South African hop. Big, exotic notes of passion fruit, lime and papaya, finishing dry with a flash of malt sweetness. Hopped with African Queen (ZA), Southern Passion (ZA), and Citra (US). Cheers
