I am pretty sure I was fortunate enough to try every one of the normal/BA versions over the years (except for Partridge), and my favorite hands down was BA 4 Calling Birds. It was the only one that I felt the need to buy several bottles, and I enjoyed every one of them!

We had that one and enjoyed it quite a bit! And I'm pretty sure I still have another bottle of that one to enjoy too.

Trying to remember what I paid for Two Turtle Doves a few years ago during this same sale.

Anyone with notes on whether Thomas Rutherford differs wildly from Elizabeth? Itching to pull the trigger...

Also, reports on how intense the peatiness in BA Pipers is?

Anyone open their Christmas collection box yet? Nice touch and brought a smile to my face. Then the practical side of me went right to, "how much extra did this cost?"

Oh, and I've resolved myself to holding on to the box until next year. Having not really invested myself in collecting the original set, I'm more interested in doing the BA vs non BA side by side. I will be following notes you guys have on how these rebrews compare to the originals though.

FWIW, it looks like Bruery found some Elizabeth Rutherford bottles and put them up for sale at least to Hoarders. Same price as Thomas Rutherford too.

    reserve too.

I see they have Three French Hens. Three years ago I had a bottle of it in my cart minutes after the sale started and lost it before I could check out because I was debating other beers. Now, it’s still available hours later. Tempting. I would buy one if I thought Partridge would show up later to complete my set.

They had 3 French Hens in last years sale as well (at least for Reserve it was there cause I bought one). That's how I got 3 through 7 and convinced myself to go and trade for 1 and 2 since I had 3-11 (and now 3-12). Currently I'm watching a Fedex tracking page waiting for Partridge/Turtle Dove to show up at my door.

Agreed about the BA 4 Calling Birds, I'm really hoping some show up in the sale.

Am I the only one noticing that Fulfillment hours are becoming less and less... now you can’t even do pickups on Tues/Weds... not a good sign :slight_frown:

Yeah... Was unclear if that's permanent or just for holidays.

I had a share for the bottles, and we only made it to opening the box for the second beer before someone permanently broke the musicbox...

Ha ha. Yeah... No spoilers for those who haven't opened yet, but I was caught by surprise and grinned ear to ear... And then also asked myself about cost, but I bet it's pretty nominal.

Love the BA to regular comparison idea...I am a little worried what they're going to charge for that BA box though... The 750ml versions released at $12 and $25 respectively (a little over double), meaning the BA box could very possibly come out more expensive than the recent BT box, which feels wrong.

Trying Bierbara. Man is it sweet (like everyone said). But I'd equate it to drinking Port. The sweetness specifically feels like it's coming from the grapes vs a more cloying malty sweetness.

Once you get past the sweetness though it is insanely mellow and balanced for such a flavorful beer. I feel like conceptually this fits in the "weird" experimental end of the Bruery spectrum, and yet the execution is so good it could stand against a more tried and true variety like a BA stout.

Would like any input on these two questions, as well...

Yeah, pretty annoying there was no warning about the change (or a post that it's just for the holidays). I'm driving down from SF next week, and luckily I'll be there on a Thursday and not a Tue/Wed. In any case, it's the last time I'll be dealing with pickups since I'm not renewing.
