I had had the Goshawks Grasp, Beans and the one in the middle of those territory maybe, and all were good with the Beans being my least fav. Grasp was very good and I think I have a bottle left at home. Worth the price, I can see it, I paid cost and shipping for a friend to send me them, and they were hefty price to begin with, so its honestly not that much more on top of normal pricing honestly

Went back through some (very sober and lucid) notes from extreme beer fest this year and apparently “proper dose = good”

Will see if that holds true tomorrow

To those cheap nyc people bemoaning $150 new years tickets... the Rochester tickets sold out at $100 a pop!

What else is there to do in Rochester at that price point??

Edit: And that includes 1 hour less of open bar.

Did anyone opt in for pastrytown? I’m on the fence. It’s an expensive time of year as it is. Then you have OH with $40 horus releases, a bunch of their own releases, and $$$ NYE and pastrytown commitments, all happening at once

“Super hot smokeshow wife babe - yeah no presents for each other this year cool? With the NYE tix, pastrytown and these 18 bottles of sugarstout I already dropped $600 this week”

I can't go because I have something that night I need to not be a zombie for, however my GF wants to go with one of her friends. If she pulls the trigger and VIP is available I might split it with her to possibly get the VIP beer for us.

Had to make room in the cellar for this weekends release so I decided to crack a few bottles.

I remember regretting picking up a bottle of Maple Creamies after tasting it, thinking it was sickeningly sweet. I don't know if it mellowed over time but this isn't all that sweet compared to some of OH's recent offerings.

Double Drupe has been stored at 50 degrees since purchase and is definitely infected. I'd say its the coconut but I opened a Snowbirds 1 recently and it was fine. Though there was about a 1/2'' thick coating of what I can only assume is coconut oil on top of the beer.

    Space Soyez Sauce was alright.

Guess I am drain pouring my Double Drupe then? I have some Space Soyez still too, perhaps I will bust them out at some point. I really need to look through what I have in the basement. Think they would give us an issue if we shared some old OH bottles at the next "BA Hop Sessions"

“Maple Creamies. Poured from bottle to snifter 12/12/19. Dry, roasty with a tickling hint of sweetness. Classic Russian imperial stout”

Geez #dhaakonmath is way more digestible than #beeravocadophilosophy.

just did the tasting session for stouts and we’re lucky to have a brewery putting this together. Talking to Kyle from Horus was awesome and everyone should buy his beers and feel good about it.

Also I think this forum needs a chocolate chip cookie debate. For me culture espresso (straight out the oven) is the winner but that is a very subjective opinion.

If you know, and freely admit, that your opinion on the matter is "very subjective," then clearly your digestive system has absorbed some of this thread's "avocado philosophy" better than you suspect.

Whereas anyone I asked at the last meetup about your reputation for advanced mathematical skill, including you, just doubled over in incredulous laughter.

But to answer your challenge, it's obviously this one:

The chocolate chip walnut from Levain. It's axiomatic. And in real math.

Good luck to all you pastry stout folks, I'm gonna have 8 dual hop IPAs for everyone of your overly sweet not really beers.

I am a JL Hooker drunk, Bourbon, Scotch, and Beer. I drink beer over dessert because if you have both it isn't good for you in the long run. So if just mix your beer with whiskey barrels that's just bringing the trintyt into one, throwing dessert into the thing is just the devil.

Strictly in NYC I'd have to go with Levain, but Jersey City has Bang Cookies which I think are better.

    1. Hard for me to get down to OH from CT. Skipped snowbirds, might do BQE at fb, because the beer will be better.
    2. Had a west coast trader already ask me if I was going for double drupe even though he knows I hate going to OH.
    3. Have had 3 horus beers plus whatever was at pastrytown last winter. He seems to be better at making money than he is at making beer.
    4. I guess I need to try this almond joy stout.

Why do I feel like BA Double Drupe is gonna be better than any of the Snowbird releases?
