BT is being opaque about its draft list for NYE (probably because most of it is unknown as of now) -- anyone been before? Anyone able to shine light on what "a focus on vintage beers" may mean for the draft list?

probably that their list will shit on any other list that night...

seriously, they have a way of getting every beer. they're like first in line on every distributor's list.

assumptions aside, I think it's a "private" event e.g. you have to sign up beforehand.

It's always a private event that runs around $125 pre-paid with food and beer. I think they do release a rough list of the beers on tap when sign-ups are offered. Their cellar is awesome and the owners partially invest in some breweries "up there" so they are able to get pretty nice beers that you normally can't find down here. The only thing is that they have to drive up to get the really interesting stuff and they most likely do for NYE. I'll let you know what was on last year and try to see if I can ask about this year.

i know it is a private event. sign-ups are open. i asked if they had any clue as to tap list and they said they do not as they don't know what they can get. i'd still be quite interested in seeing last year's.... :grinning:

I went last year, paid $100 and it was a nice tap list. Not too many vintage kegs. Had a couple HF taps (Flora and something else) a Grassroots Wachu Saison, a bad GR Kolval line that got taken off, your top IPAs (Sculpin, Dry Hopped Ruination), Kuhnenn (before they distributed here) and such. The vintage part was more the bottles. Dave would bring out special bottles every half hr or hour and you had to keep your eyes open for him, to get in on the action. He was nice about spreading enough around. Had a some nice brews and the food was great. Very crowded obviously so if you're with a lady show up early to get a table or seat at the bar. I feel like they should have a keg list like the VSK one, it would be a little more worth it, though I don't feel like it was a let down. Good crowd. Some craft beer industry people there. Last year Brian Strumpke brought a personal vintage bottle of one of his original home-brews, though I didn't get in on that. Hope this helps

$100 bought you THAT? Wow... only in a big city could you charge those kinds of prices and get away with it.

Agreed, but compared to other open bars in the city it's a great deal.

You can easily spend more than $100 for BMC and well liquor. At least at the BT you're getting good beer

agreed - $100 for open bar of good beer for 5 hours and at least some semblance of food... not too bad. trying to imagine how many people in blind tiger constitutes 75

Knowing BT, I think it's gonna be packed. lets hope not as packed as the VSK or founders events

Shouldn't be as bad as it's limited to 75 tickets (VSK etc, must be 100+)
