The beltway bubble, disposable income, and a healthy secondary market for flipping will keep them propped up as long as their products are sought after.

what are people paying on the secondary market?

How long do you think their products will be sought after for at this rate?

People love their beer in the DMV and nationally, so it probably will not ‘fall off.’ Just because you do not like it or five other people on this site, doesn’t mean they will ‘fail.’ They make great beer and that is supported by the amount of beer they sell on a weekly basis.

I tell you what, the Aslin/Charles Towne Fermentory collab was fire. Triple Yellow Sunfish IIPA. Had it on tap at Dominion. Not sure if there's any more though.

That’s a good question. Aslin got into the hazy ipa and pastry stout craze at the onset, capitalizing on the lack of competition in the area and the demand for such products. I think people will continue to buy their beer as long as it doesn’t suck and their is limited to no competition.

Do you think that they still have limited to no competition in the area? I don't. I still think they make good beer, but there are a lot of breweries who have upped their game or emerged that are getting their beer to the area.

Outside of Ocelot, I don't see much competition and even then it's a bit of a slog to visit. Who are you thinking?

Cue Other Half's opening in DC.

Also, with regard to the "as long as it doesn't suck" portion of your post, the thing that really drew me to Aslin was their high-ABV pastry stouts, both barrel-aged and not. Most of the stuff they've done in that field has really tickled my butthole in a way few other beers ever have. But several of the most recent releases have been underwhelming, and, at $30 per bottle, that left me feeling pretty burnt. I'm beginning to wonder whether they can maintain the reputation they've built now that Richard is out of the picture.

Other Half will be a great addition to the scene here.

I really enjoyed the two this weekend. Tiny Thugs was great.

What does Richard have to do with the reputation?

Back in their younger years, I was given the strong impression Richard was the primary driving force behind the pastry stouts that really put them on the map (e.g., Juan, Bale, Pisghetti, Kokomo, Belly Shirts, Genius Kitchen, Sprechen). I also took it as a bad omen that they rolled out a bunch of unimpressive releases a few months after he left (e.g., Interlopers, Browser History, Cidiots, Lowered Expectations, Purple Banana, Chubby Unicorns). Hard not to suspect his absence explains the decline in tastiness.

And yeah, I'm looking forward to OH, whenever they open. Love me some Aslin, but only the absolute best IPAs I've ever had from them were on the same level as what OH constantly rolls out, at least to my tastes.

I don’t necessarily agree on OH, but to each their own.

I never got that impression based in conversations with all three. Thought it was a team effort.

I want to give this post a like, but it's so on the money I'm giving it a reply.

Still love Aslin, but they're not the untouchable force they once were.

I think in this age of craft beer no brewery is untouchable. There is just too much good beer out there.

I don't have access, care to share what the beers are going for since you seem to know? Not looking to get in on the profit, don't worry, just curious what they are going for.

Is OH going to distribute outside the city? Or will the beers just be available at the OH facility?

Did the bottles from Saturday's release sell out? I didn't see anything stating otherwise and they haven't updated the website since Friday AM.

Hey-check availability on our website! Also-we won’t update that.

I agree with some of the sentiment above-90% of the Aslin I buy goes north for Trillium, Treehouse and Vitamin Sea.

No clue on what's going on with OH. I think we're all just eagerly awaiting further developments.

The most recent bottles definitely did not sell out on Saturday, because I couldn't make it on release day but scored some yesterday. Not sure if they're still available now.

The Veil has 22 to go beers available currently. Do they need to have a sale too?
