I took a tour with a friend who brews there two May's ago, and was advised that Interlude was going on hiatus for awhile. So, I promptly bought a magnum of it to stave off the disappointment!

They posted yesterday that for the last day of their sock drive you could get a free sample of Interlude 2019 with a sock donation.

I thought it was their estate cherry beer?

They started with Estate Cherry and then offered Interlude 2019 on later days, presumably after Estate Cherry ran out.

Oh Helena, what wonderful beers you have brought us. This sour red ale is the base beer for Allagash favorites like Little Sal (Helena aged on blueberries) and Pick Your Own (Helena aged on raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and cherries). All by itself, our take on a traditional Flanders-style red ale has tartness that marries aromas of pear, apple, and caramel—perfect for savoring on its own. You’ll find this beer only in our tasting room starting this Saturday (12/14)

Their labels are underrated things of beauty. The cans are designed masterfully. The labels on the bottles have that, like, raised and rough quality that I love on a bottle of wine. Fucking Allagash man.

They've got fantastic attention to detail. Everything they do is with purpose and that purpose isn't solely to maximize profit or revenue. Its visible throughout the entire Allagash organization, a sense of passion in what they are doing. I think a lot of non beer related businesses could learn a lot from Allagash. To be around for 24 years, to be in both the top 50 craft beer and overall breweries, and still be as respected as they are is a pretty incredible accomplishment. I just tapped a keg of Map 40 so I'm also a bit high on Allagash at the moment

    coming in “early 2020”

I don’t even know what my guess would be. $20? I’m really bad at math, but I feel like they could make this pricing super competitive. If JA can do House at $15.99/15, why can’t Allagash do 12 at $16-18?

    I think they’ll be 20$ +. Their 4 packs were always 11/12$

oh, sure. Four packs are $11.99 at my store. That’s 16 oz. If they sold these 12 oz 12-packs for $22-24, it’d be totally fair — and something I’d buy often. For reference, in addition to other beer purchases, I buy a 15-pack of House Lager about once a month. It’s so nice to have a beer I love on constant standby. I can’t imagine not doing the same thing with White.

Generally JA House Lager and Allagash White sixtel prices are about the same. Generally you are talking in the $90's range depending on where you go (high volume places can dip into the $80's). I'm going to guess the 12 packs are going to be distributed more in places you see cases of Bud than where you see a lot of craft beer. Might even be an either or type of thing, places either sell the 4 packs at a higher price or they sell the 12 packs (perhaps 4 packs sold cold and 12 packs warm, higher cost for convenience of cold?). I'm thinking its going to be sub $20. If they were going to match the per ounce price they sell the sixtel's at in high volume it would be in the $17 range. The fact that they are in 12 oz cans also points to more high volume stores, places where 16 oz beers are more of an oddity.

It feels like a grocery play. Great, I can get my burgers and hot dogs for a Summer BBQ and get the beer too.
