Great post. I mentioned some of this and was met with contention.. glad I’m not taking crazy pills.. a lot of what you elaborated on was intuitive to me so it seemed weird to get that reaction.

Irregardlessly speaking- at the end of the day we’re talking bout adults getting waaaaaaay too upset about throwing $20 out the window and finally figuring it out a year later lol

I finally managed to get in touch with Epic and they said that they would send me a refund. However that was two weeks ago and I haven't heard from them or received anything since. I guess I'll give it another week before getting back in touch with them. Wouldn't be the first time that a brewery promised me a refund and then ghosted me...

So I finally got my cheque from Epic, too bad that my bank wants to charge me handling and fees that would be higher than the amount refunded for an international cheque. That shit really pisses me off, almost 20€ handling and fees and for what? To transfer some electronic currency? Unbelieveable, fucking banks all need to be burned to the ground.

Sounds like your bank is infected too

Of course, they are infected with the same impertinent greed and complete and utter lack of basic human decency as every other financial institution.

Could you try using it at your favourite water hole?

I mean, what use would they have for it?

Sorry I misunderstood what you posted.

Perhaps you can contact Epic and have them send you the refund in Euros vs US dollars? Grasping at straws here.

That wouldn't really do much, as the handling fee is for international checks in general. I already asked them if it was possible to transfer the money directly to my bank account/paypal instead, but I doubt much will come of it, to be honest.

If there's a Citibank near you, you could open an account, deposit the check, and after it clears, withdraw the funds and close the account.

I'm not sure if this would work, but it seems like a lot of effort for 17€ anyway, to be honest. I mean, sure, it's the principle at stake, but still. I'll look into it though, cheers.

The way I look at it, 17 euros should be less than an hours worth of work, so if you are putting more than an hour into obtaining that money than you're wasting your own valuable time.

Just opened a 2018 quad barrel over the weekend, stamp said release #3. Horribly infected.
Reached out to Epic, they said it was a known infection and they have been working to get all bottles back. They are sending a refund.

I have a bottle of 2018 Quadrouple Barrel BBB release #3 in my cellar. How did you contact Epic?

Also Tavour just sold a 3 pack of 2018 BBB with 1 each of the regular, the Quad and the Baptista. This was in the last month and is currently being shipped. I hope they are not infected.

I reached out to them via FB msgr, they responded right away.
I think they are up to release #6 now, a buddy has a quad Baptist and his says release #6.. I did ask Epic about the Tavour situation, they have yet to reply

Thanks. If they do reply about the Tavour situation please let me know. Since I do have a bottle being shipped right now I guess I will wait for it to arrive before I reach out to Epic.

I saw BBB in 12 oz/4 pack cans last week for around 18 bones. It didn't say if they were pre-infected, though. I'm wishing I'd picked one up, lol.
