Also not sure if this was previous knowledge, but Aloha Friday was confirmed as a Hoarder’s only beer.

Just popped open the 12 days box... and the rebrew of 8 maids is phenomenal!

That beer confused the hell out of me originally... it tasted more like a quad than a milk stout... this on the other hand is straight roasty, creamy, and awesome!

Who says Batch One is always better?

    7 Swans rebrew vs original:

I really enjoyed this beer when it first came out, and the rebrew in the 12 Days box is fantastic. Big bold well balanced fruity flavors in a very easy drinking body.

The original has not held up great. It's still very tasty, but the rebrew wins hands down. The flavor is less dynamic, it's a little too sweet, and there's what I think is some oxidation that doesn't work for me.

I was really thinking about the 12 Days set of originals that they have. But a combination of a) the price b) reports of oxidation in some of the older ones c) incompleteness of both the originals and barrel aged, and d) lack of room in the 20 cubic foot beer fridge/cellar has me out. Wish they had full sets of both the original and barrel aged. I could probably justify a case this year and a case next year, but 20 at once is a LOT of beer.

How are you guys consuming your rebrew 12 Days Sets?

I am trying to decide if I want to do one a night, or 3 per night (with stoppers and finish the next night)... 1>12, or 12>1

Or just let er rip, and see how many I can dome in one night (I would wager 5x375s before I start posting like @fegelFatso ).

    I would do 1 a night for each of the 12 days, 12/25- 1/5.

You guys will like this. I did Bourbon County Brand Mon Cheri against Cherry Chocolate Rain.

    CCR was the clear winner.

One a night. Not in order. Not trying to over think it.

@johnInLA also agree, Mon Cheri was surprisingly crappy fresh, and I usually like the berry ones or at least find them enjoyable.

Although as usual with the Berry johnts, it could really come into it's own in ~30 months from now.

CCR was one of my favorite beers from 2018, and I just picked up my 2019 bottle. Shame they didn't do 375mls this year though.

Stopping by the tasting room later today, anyone have favorites of the days rebrews? Specifically from the first 5ish years? I think I've tried from 6 or 7 through now of the original brews

I haven't tried them on draft, only the bottles from the set.

I thought Partridge was great (had never had before). That's one I'd stock up on if they released (regular priced) bottles.
2 Turtle Doves was just fine... my expectations were high based on the description (had never had before), but I thought the chocolate flavor mixed weird with the Belgian flavors.
3 French is a great beer. Coin flip between this and Partridge if you only wanted one dark one.
    4 Calling is fine.
5 Golden is great, but I also think it stands out more from the pack because it's so different.

I highly doubt the Bruery even has any more BA Partridge to sell even if they wanted to. I think they only held back one or two cases at the time, and that was a decade ago.

I am also sure they don’t- I’m shocked they have regular Partridge. As a guy self-diagnosed with mild OCD, 9/11 BBA and 11/12 non-BBA just drives me a bit nuts...
