Morning Delight is still on somehow...also, pretty sure a lot of the Wunderkammer stuff is as well at Grand Delancey. How is the newest Hop Showers? Thought about going down after Christmas before hitting up Cote for some steaks.

That's Morning Latte not Delight, I've heard bad things about Latte unfortunately.

Nash, check Gold Star's post..somehow they got a keg of Morning Delight recently...more surprisingly is it has lasted two, going on three days. Granted, this was yesterday so not sure if it is still there today. Also, yes Morning Latte is pretty "eh" at best.

No it’s definitely morning latte. Don’t check the post, don’t look into it

The Fomo is strong with this young Padawan, who also missed Double Drupe because he was trying to be a funny guy instead of listening to the Jedi Masters.

Oh I misread that post, thought you were referring to Grand Delancey for both cause they have Morning Latte on.

Hill Farmstead is a way better brewery than Other Half. Stellar at all styles they do, just get knocked a bit because they haven't joined the adjunct/lactose craze. Convince me I am wrong.

I don't want to convince anyone they're wrong but I'm obliged to point out when they are...^^^^^^^!

In terms of versatility, that’s not a controversial statement at all. But as much as I love HF IPA, Other Half is my platonic ideal of a modern New England style IPA and I wouldn’t take a hoppy beer lineup from any other brewery over theirs.

Hill farmstead is overrated. Other half is better. #questfor189

The collective wisdom on this thread can't even definitively define "beer." How will it ever define what's meant by the word "better"?

(But as a ploy to help ensure #189, this debate will be gold...)

Although I do love Other Half, comparing them to Hill seems a bit of a stretch...overall, especially thinking about certain beers like BA Dorothy, Damon, and some Civil DIsobedience blends I personally can't see anyone touching them. That isn't to say I haven't had some from them that I disliked (was NOT a fan of either Soignee).

True that the OH has the edge on NE IPAs but that is a recent style. I wonder if things will revert back to an IPA tasting like an IPA where places like HF sit.

Agree but think HF just doesn't seem to be in vogue so people hype up all things OH, TH, etc. I would also say a lot of the regular HF beers are some of best in the style. Those you mention but also think Mary is one of the best Pilsners out there, Edward of the best APAs, and there saisons (e.g., Arthur, Anna) in regular rotation are great.

How would you rate OH compared to Treehouse, Trillium, Monkish, and others?

HF (as I’ve made obvious many times haha) is hands down my favorite brewery. And overall yes, a better brewery than OH. That said they’re hard to compare. Different in a multitude of ways. Sort of like comparing NASCAR to F1.

Even their NEIPAs (really their only point of overlap) are very different. ACE is hands down one of my all time fave beers. However the enjoyment I got from drinking 3-4 HF Double Citra - that was unique. The former is much more in your face. The latter (for the style), more balanced.

The one thing I’d disagree with is any notion of HF being knocked or not en vogue. They still get tons of respect/accolades. It’s incredible how relevant they’ve stayed as they get close to hitting the ten year mark.

Fair point on being knocked/not in vogue. Just feels like the hype isn't there like back in the day which, as you have not with Suarez, is not a bad thing.

Oh man, don't get me started on the ills of auto racing. Maybe the most egregious waste of natural resources outside of ruining 10 different kinds of food products by stuffing them into a beer which doesn't need them in some desperate bid for attention and market share.

Sorry if this sounds like anyone we know.

OH is equal to Tree House imo. Ipas are neck and neck and while it may sound sacrilegious to TH fans, their stouts are about equal as well. Tree House’s stouts may be the most overrated thing about any brewery I have tried. Plus many of them have a weird mushy pea note to them.
