Well I am not sure about that. It states average price for Domestic Pint? I know for a fact I can get a domestic pint of local beer for under 3 bucks. If they are looking at a DIPA or such I can get those around $3.5-$4 bucks a pint. In the chart they tossed up I see ranges from $3.25 to $7 so I can assure you AZ is there no problem. Not a big deal but price is certainly not the reason.
    Cheers

I travel around the country looking for breweries, and happened to move to Minneapolis this fall. It's a pretty amazing beer town. Came from SF bay area which was ok, but SF itself -not a beer town. Oakland and Santa Rosa are ok. Best so far is Fort Collins, CO. Good breweries on evere corner.

Way late but I can vote in Calgary, Alberta? Just look up the quality. Insane beers from some really cool small breweries.

Tampa did make the list, as did Asheville NC. Raleigh NC did not make the list, but that is more of an, "Area," often referred to as The Triangle Area. Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. A ton of great small breweries worth checking out.
And yes, the list is in a word, "stupid."

It's amusing to see so many taking a shit on this list. I suppose it must be reiterated that this list is not geared towards us beer snobs, it's geared towards all beer drinkers.

The incredulous comments towards price-per-pint is bewildering. Where, outside of the country's mega-opolises, can't you find BMC for $4 a pour?

Based on the criteria used, I believe this list is solid. I think a lot of the butt-hurt opined is due to the fact that the authors weren't evaluating metropolitan areas, but cities, proper. And the fact that they included swill in their criteria.

As a Cincinnatian, I'll counter the San Diego homers and let you in on the fact that we, too, have somewhere around 100 breweries and not the 30 figure that the list states. Heck, if metro areas were evaluated, I'd bet this list wouldn't change a whole lot besides seeing NY, Chicago, and LA towards the top; and to me, that wouldn't be very surprising, or interesting.

If Cincinnati topping this list upsets you, come for a visit, drop me a message and I'll show you world-class. (World-class being subjective, obviously. lol)

I've been to roughly half these cities, and while they apply a consistent methodology the results it produces are fluff. I'd prefer a subjective list to this.

The fact that my hometown of Colorado Springs came in 24 alone invalidates this list. Colorado Springs is a craft beer wasteland. Portland Maine is an amazing beer city, and came in 23. Lists are fun, and as the criteria is kept in mind it is possible to learn something without being led astray. But the criteria here is so arbitrary that it leads to a mostly useless list.

Burlington is tied with Grand Rapids of favourite beer trips for me, but as soon as I read that the cost was factored in I knew VT would not be in the top 50. Loved Burlington but the cost was over the top. Beer, hotels, food. Everything was pretty expensive. I didnt mind, but can see how it would not make a list that uses that as a yardstick.

This thread is now on page 4, and I am constantly amazed at how so many people still think this list has anything to do with craft beer.

cold temps = great beer drinking

    Stouts, barleywines, Doppelbocks, Quads...etc.

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who tries to read an entire thread before responding.

It's good to know there's two of us.

I wonder how much shorter a lot of these threads would be if you eliminated all the repeat posts from people who didn't bother to read the entire thread first.

Loving the Ohio showing. CLE @ #10. But any of the major cities state wide have great beer scenes. Some that are straight regional or non distro local stop ins only.

We have those also, during the day 60s and 70s and at night 40s and 30s, so best of both LOL  Or I can drive 3 hours and ski and have endless snow in Northern AZ.

The annual snowfall averages 100.3 inches (254.8 cm), placing Flagstaff among the snowiest incorporated cities in the United States.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was too blind to notice the credit to Numbeo. I take back what I've posted in this thread about the article's "price of a pint" stat since I have no idea how Numbeo is defining "domestic." This could exclude "craft." This figure is also just derived from contributors to the Numbeo site, so this can also be clearly lacking quality as a representational figure.
