Not a bad list by any stretch but I really wish they’d package Honey Porter again...and wtf happened to Cape May Lager?!:sob:

How I failed to notice that omission is beyond me! One of the best lagers I had this year. Damn.

Me too. I think FTG is their best beer, period.

Damn....no!! I loved the Lager, I drank the hell out of that this past summer, I sure hope they are doing it again I thought it sold really well.

Maybe in 2021? It sure isn't listed on the 2020 release schedule.

    Cheers!

Their Lager was in my cooler for much of the summer, such a tasty on point beer. The blog post with the schedule says this, sadly:

While many people love Cape May Lager, we’ve decided to discontinue this brand in 2020. Straightforward, unadorned, traditional lagers had a rough year in 2019, but our success with Tan Limes is telling us that there’s still a desire for those crisp, refreshing offerings. However, it doesn’t make sense for us to have two beers that fit that description on the market year-round, and we have high hopes for Tan Limes. So, in order to focus on what our consumers want, we’re saying goodbye to Cape May Lager to make more room in production (and on shelves) for Tan Limes

I love that blog post where they explain their thought process around each beer, changes, etc. Wish more breweries would do that.

I hate the decision to stop brewing Cape May lager. And the reason, which I understand, saddens me even more.

    This,so much this.

Anyway, I'm very disappointed in Tan Limes replacing it becasuse that beer can't hold the jock to the Lager.....another fruited beer.....great. RIP Cape May Lager, we had a good time together this past summer, may we meet again some time.

Keith, another aspect to keep in mind is that during the summer Cape May brewing operations is 'balls to the walls'. They operate multiple shifts to try and keep up with demand. Producing two lagers during the summer months add 'extra' production issues due to the fact this beers take up more tank time due to the lagering process.

When I took a tour of the brewery in September 2018 it appeared to me that the brewing facility is already maxed out so no existing room to expand operations in the existing facility.

Perhaps if customer demands warrant multiple lagers during the summer months they could decide to conduct expanded contract brewing (e.g., FX Matt Brewing)?

    Cheers!

I thought Yards was helping out with some of the brewing/capacity issues, specifically for Lager.

Ah, you have a good memory here:

"The deal will specifically cover the brewing, kegging and canning of Cape May Lager for distribution."

    https://www.phillyvoice.com/yards-brewing-cape-may-lager-philadelphia-partnership/

Perhaps the issue is that either Yards or Cape May have terminated this relationship for business reasons?

    Cheers!
