    Disney Tips
For those traveling to Disney, many places throughout the parks and resorts now serve craft beer.

Yes variety in the parks is limited. Yes it's expensive to buy beer in the parks or at your hotel.

Yes you can bring your own beer to Disney resort pools.

Thank you Bknarr for doing the leg work for all this time.

    UNIVERSAL
Since I know I’ve searched Universal many times, I figured I’d post a specific thread after a short visit this weekend. I will basically post about what I found unique. Yuengling and Blue Moon are all over both parks. I did not search every inch of the place to be sure. You may now be able to find some local FL beers at the parks.

Universal Studios - In Springfield, the Duff brewery offers three beers (I believe all by Florida Beer Co). I only had the regular Duff. It was fine. In Harry Potter World, you will find two unique beers. There is Wizard’s Brew (a very solid sweet leaning stout) and Dragon’s Scale (a mildly hoppy red). There’s a beer cart in NY area across from Starbucks and Louie’s. They have 4 locals including Jai Alai and Orange Blossom Pilsner.

Islands of Adventure - Hogs Head in Harry Potter had the two previously mentioned beers plus a 3rd which was malty offering in the Scottish Ale style (Hog’s Head Brew). To be honest, I didn’t see much else in Islands.

City Walk - Again, here you will find Yuengling and Blue Moon at walk up carts like it is growing in trees. I found the selection at NBC Grill to be vast and certainly worth a look. Clearly the largest selection was here with probably upwards of a hundred cans, bottles and drafts. In general, there was nothing hear that knocked my socks off though. The Cow Fish had a nice, but small selection of craft including about six drafts. Each of these two places had Two Hearted which was probably the best beer at each.

Stayed at Portofino Bay and I’d say each venue there (pool, bars, restaurants) had one pretty good craft selection (including Jai Alai and Funky Buddha Hop Gun).

I've looked through just about all of the places listed above so if I did miss something in the area my bad but is there anything, breweries in particular, in the SE part of Orlando? Not at all familiar with the area but looks like Windsor Hills / Four Corners. I'll be staying at Margaritaville Resort in a few weeks and will not have transportation so it has to be nearby. From looking at GoogleMaps, Untappd and the info above looks like a ghost town in that area. Only thing I can locate so far is a Publix nearby and a couple local chain restaurants (Miller's Ale House and Rock & Brews). TIA!

I honestly cannot think of anything anywhere near Margaritaville on West 192 besides the two restaurants you mentioned. Ale House does carry a pretty good tap list though and should have some local offerings.

Any new info on the Red Cypress space? Looks like it’s still sitting there full of stuff just collecting dust.

From what I last heard. The customer that was going to purchase RC had an issue with some "NEW" requirements from the landlord that RC did not originally have to do. So that deal is dead in the water.

Nothing over that way at all. Depending on how long you are here, you may want to rent a car for a day or 2 and make a trip around town. Or hell you are close to Tampa hit those guys over there.

One place i will tell you to hit is Ellipsis they are 5 min from the airport. Less than $5 uber. They open at 1pm everyday. One of the best breweries in the area.

Thanks for the info. Ellipsis seems to the a popular one that comes up often. Only going to be in town for 3 days on business with a large group and transportation to/from airport is coordinated through my company already. Don't think there's much flexibility on that but typically I have a few hours free one afternoon and was hoping there was something nearby to the resort that I could slip out too during that open time.

Any good beer bars or breweries within 10-15 minutes of the airport? I’m going to have an hour or so around noon today to kill. I’ll have a rental car, but don’t want to venture too far. Thank you!

Fun timing for me - I land in Orlando right when the beerfest ends (4 PM on Saturday) but looks like I’ll be able to hit Ellipsis’s anniversary! Should be a good time. If anyone hears of anything else cool happening that afternoon, let me know!

Thanks for the info! Received our itinerary today and looks like (next) Thurs afternoon would be free to check out some spots and that would be the only free time I have. Margaritaville says they provide complimentary transportation to several of the theme parks (Disney, SeaWorld and Universal). Depending on where they drop it looks like I could catch a ride to Disney and then walk to check out Big River.

If I did really want to check out Ellipsis and not spend a lot on Uber/Lyft I could get the shuttle to SeaWorld then Uber over to Ellipsis. That would be around $20 each way I figure.

Now that I have the agenda I'll have to look ato see if there's any other possibly spots within a pretty cheap Uber ride from the resort or from the parks they would drop me off to. Not too familiar with the area but when we were up several years ago stayed AT Hard Rock Universal and walk to Dead Lizard, which was a hike in itself. Has the area been inundated with those electric scooters yet (Lime, Bird, etc...) Guess that could be another option for transporation outside of walking and Uber/Lyft.

I’ll be heading to Disney in April. After reading the 2019 thread and the 2020 so far it seems like the general consensus is:

    Ellipsis
    (Gap)
    Sideward
    Tactical
    (Gap)
    everything else

does that sound right? What about local distro? Anything specific that gets distributed and is fresh. It’s been a couple years, but I think last time I was down there Sunshine City and Megamix were a couple solid options.
