New thread for 2020 per the BA mods. All things CMBC related can be discussed here for 2020.
    About the brewery:

Cape May Brewing Company began with one simple question: Where’s all the beer down here?? With that in mind, we decided to provide South Jersey with fresh, delicious, local beer to put New Jersey on the map as a craft beer state.

In July 2011, we found our home at the Cape May Airport, excitedly purchased our forklift, and delivered our first keg of Cape May IPA to Cabanas Beach Bar and Grill. Since then, we’ve proudly brewed all our beers here, crafting balanced and flavorful ales and lagers for thousands of happy locals and visitors.

Throughout the year, hundreds of our beers can be found in New Jersey and Philadelphia. We are proud to distribute our beers to hundreds of bars, restaurants, and liquor stores, ensuring premium freshness and excellent service. While the majority of our beers are only available on draft, we package several of our brews as well as our recent, highly-acclaimed Barrel Aged Series.

Our Tasting Room is one of the largest and most accessible in the state, with a spacious and sunny Beer Garden. You can visit our gift shop, “The Brewtique,” and take our interactive, self-guided tour. While many production breweries are only open a few hours per week, we are open daily from 12PM–8PM for tours and tastings.

Cans and bottles as well as merch, swag and growlers and fills are available in their Brewtique, which is connected to the tasting room. Tasting room hours are posted above and they are open all year long. They are located at 1288 Hornet Rd. Cape May, NJ. 08204 which is in the Cape May Airport complex.

New thread for 2020. I’ll look for the link to the beer release calendar for 2020 as I think it was posted on Instagram. Anyway, a really great brewery located at the Jersey Shore.

Gotta say it again, I am really going to miss Lager. Such a good, approachable beer that works for craft and non craft beer drinkers alike.

Thanks @jesskidden much appreciated for the release calendar.

See, I just don't "get" Tan Limes. It was ok.......just ok for me. I much, much prefer the lager but I guess I'm in the minority here.

Try it with a few tacos, home run. I do agree that it’s disappointing to boot the original lager completely for Tan Limes.

Put me down for another one who enjoyed the lager and am disappointed they’re not even doing one run of it this year.

It's pretty annoying that, generally speaking, lagers always seem to be the first styles to get discontinued. Perhaps it's due to the extended lagering time, you can probably brew 2 batches of pale ale by the time you finish 1 batch of lager.

I just don't get the whole "craft Mexican lager" thing as a whole for the most part.

But Cape May is still making a lager available: Tan Lines. So....
Yes, Lagers do indeed take much longer both from a fermentation timeframe and the lagering process perspective. Over the holidays I brewed two batches of lager (Czech Dark Lager & Bohemian Pilsner). For my brewing practice I ferment for 2 weeks (vs. less than a week for an Ale) and I lager for 5 weeks (needless to say but ales are typically not lagered).

    Cheers!

I personally do not drink these sorts of beers but apparently some breweries want to 'catch lightening in a bottle' such as Corona does. Lots of folks pay inflated prices for Mexican brewed & branded AAL beers. Craft Breweries want their share of that market (e.g., Sierra Nevada brewing Sierraveza for the past year).

    Cheers!

Glad to see Mop Water on the draft schedule. Was afraid it was gone for good.

Surprised about the lager or lack thereof. I thought it was nice and crispy and it sold well where I shop. I'm pretty sure it was close to if not outselling their IPA for a time.

I mentioned this to the owner and he said he had a few regular beer drinkers hooked on the lager.

I think I'd prefer Tan Limes over Lager for the beach tbh.

Agree to disagree on this one. Lagers w/ lime added (or any fruit for that matter) always become a little “too much” after a few for my tastes. Nite Lite/Lime Lite is a good example of this; I prefer my beer unadulterated whenever possible.

Well, that's no longer the case.

But that's just it, the big Mexican beers don't contain salt and lime - oh, wait - I'm sorry "Cape May Sea Salt and Persian Lime" - and they seem to do alright. Damn, Constellation's approaching combined 9% market share with just Corona and Modelo Especial, 2018's #6 and #7 beers in the US. According to a Forbes article from a few days ago, Constellation is currently claiming that “...Modelo Especial ... the #4 beer brand (in sales) in the entire U.S.” :astonished: that'd mean it passed both Corona and Budweiser.

Not sure why US brewers still are thinking, "Gee, all the trendy people are cutting up limes and squeezing them into bottles of Mexican adjunct lager beers. But Americans are lazy, so why don't we brew some cheap lager and put the lime in it for them!" Yet, from Lone Star Lime to Tequiza to Miller Chill to Bud Light Lime - they've all failed. (Well, looks like Bud Light Lime's still around, same for their Chiladas.)

Well, it likely isn't #1, but it sure is in the Top 10 of the most repulsive beer names...
