It goes by region. I'm in NY I have never seen a NY, NH, MA, CT, RI or ME brewery on there I can think of. Only thing from VT I can recall is Frost. There is some PA stuff on there but nothing that we'd ever see in NY. I do see a LOT of west coast, Midwest and southern stuff that has absolutely no NY distro. And it's only every once in a while that the stuff from the regions I mentioned that we do get shows up. For instance, they put Prairie and Ale Apothecary up there, both of which we get distro on. But I would never, ever expect for any company like this to be able to cross-reference every brewery with every distributor for a given state to make sure there's no overlap.
NY is represented fairly frequently (Brooklyn's Interboro and Grimm come to mind, and there are some upstate ones, too). Acquired some some nice pilsners from Castle Island (MA) on my last shipment, and I'm pretty sure I've had a CT brewery or two from them. You might not see northeast breweries as often as other regions, but Tavour has offered them in the past.
I think that was his point - that he’s not seeing them because that’s where he’s from. That the site is purposefully set up that way
I’ve ordered twice and have been very happy both times! Cost is the prohibitive factor but I appreciate their flat rate shipping. I got a Mother of All Storms from them that I’ve been meaning to open.
I've used them for a few years now. Never had an issue with shipping or beers. Always been quick to help me if I mistakenly ordered the same beer twice or the beer was infected (one time). With a good amount of the beers offered not available normally here in Seattle, I'm not sure if the prices on some of the more rare beers are good or not. Sometimes they seem to be a little high which put me off ordering them, especially the bundles for holidays (July 4th, Xmas, etc). Beers that aren't as unique or rare are priced pretty good though, such as a pair of 16oz cans for $6-7 total from a good brewer. Shipping is via UPS and never had a problem with it, arrives a few days after being sent. I have it sent to my work now as the first few times they tried my home, no one was able to be there and it has to be signed for by someone of legal drinking age. Other than that it has been a great experience. The app is pretty slick and easy to use as well.
Do you mean the "Waitlist Me" option? I see that plenty but usually on the popular beers or rare ones that sell out fast. I can't say as this is 100% true but I would not be surprised if they ran a program to offer certain beers first or only to select members that have ordered X number of beers in Y amount of time. I have gotten emailed offers not found in the app from time to time. They never say "because you ordered 30 beers in the last 6 months you are eligible for..." or anything. They may use your shipping address to put you in certain regional offerings (by that I mean the regular offers not specials) but that would be tedious for the app to make sure it doesn't show the wrong beers to someone. Then they have to honor it and it gets pricey and cumbersome knowing where to send a beer someplace it wasn't supposed to.
I'm aware of the waitlist option when something sells out, that's not really what I was referring to. I guess I was more wondering about how they roll out the inventory to the app. I'm from Western PA and there were definitely people seeing Endless Ending in their app that live in the same area before I was. I've also never received an email with an offer outside of their recent 12 Days of Christmas bundle. Maybe a little experiment is in order, @Sound_Explorer you're across the country from me, what are the first 5 listings you're seeing in your app right now? Right now I'm looking at: Mangonada by Urban Artifact La Reine by Wild Mind Aritsan Ales Patterns by Anchorage BBA Lion Tamer by Ravenna Brewing Cider box bundle I'd be curious to hear what others in my area or outside of it are currently seeing right now, 1/8/2020.
Been using tavour for about 2 years now, but going to slow down on it. Originally signed up to get delivery of alesong but thought I’d check it out since it’s supposed to ship beer not available in your area. I’ve enjoyed it and as others have mentioned been able to pick up some quality stouts and IPAs but certainly only ship about every 3 months. Never had an issue with shipping outside some bottles broke in the warehouse that they replaced no problem. Also they seem to be extra cautious of weather as a package was once delayed for 5 days because it dropped below 32 here for a few days. Pricing is pretty fare most stuff is around market value where I have seen it elsewhere when traveling, with a few being maybe 5 bucks more. But at the same time I’m willing to pay a few extra bucks for something special I can’t get here.
I have literally none of those (though I did just join a couple days ago, mainly to see what's on offer). Morticia by Barrier Taang! by Spring House Raspberry Minette by Crane Absence of Light PB & J by 4 Hands DDH Blissful Ignorance by Lupulin
Very interesting! Midwest signing on: Anchorage Medusa Gun Hill Casual Fridaze Barrier Morticia While Elm Fluffaluffagus Anchorage Bitter Monk I do have the 4Hands PB beer further back. So 2 overlaps w/ @treznor & none w/ @Pinz412. Interesting.
@maximum12 I've got the Medusa, Casual Fridaze, and Bitter Monk but they're from a few days ago. I think I remember seeing the Fluffaluffagus, but it's not longer available here. I haven't seen any of the beers that @treznor posted though. That's making me think that some regions overlap, and/or they roll out by region. I'd be curious if there's anyone local to me that has a completely different list. Thanks for playing along.
There's 15 total on my app. Newest 5 are: Barrier Morticia Adroit Therapy Lupulin Blissful pFriem BBA Imperial Anchorage Medusa I get a lot of Anchorage. Abyss showed up one day last week. Gone in a heartbeat.

I’m between Central and NEPA so what gets distorted in my area is very similar to you I have those five in that order (plus older ones) The two newest you have are probably Monday Night Brewing Space Lettuce and The Brewing Projekt Drank So it seems to be regional
The brewing projekt is on tavour. They are doing very solid IPAs and milkshake IPAs. Would grab that for sure.
