FYI Spring Hill Suites across the street finally posted their rates for the month of May so you can now book (marriott.com). They had the whole month blocked off until this morning. . Friday is sold out, just Saturday available. they almost doubled the cost of a night...edit: it looks like you have to book 2 nights for 573, Saturday and Sunday. what a rip off

 

Ive been staying at the Hampton in Hammond the last couple years, still a cheap Uber ride away, and the prices are reasonable

 

I opted out of staying in any Hammond hotels last year, which I'd always preferred in years past. They've started pulling Munster prices and requirements (like the 2 day bullshit).

There's a lot of hotels in the area that are all 15 minutes away in all different directions. I'll keep avoiding the asshole-tels. A place to crash in Indiana that you won't remember anyway is not worth downtown Chicago rates.

Just called them and they said Friday is showing sold out because rates go live on their website tomorrow and this year its a 3 night minimum...lol what a joke.

 

Sounds like discouraging DLD patrons...

 

that's what they told me yesterday. the whole month of may was "unavailable"...today I just checked it for the heck of it, and the site let me book for Friday and saturday....I checked again and said sold out. guess I got lucky.
