Here is the first variant and label

    In the constellation of Cygnus
There lurks a mysterious, invisible force
    The Black Hole
    Of Cygnus X-1

Six Stars of the Northern Cross
In mourning for their sister’s loss
In a final flash of glory
    Nevermore to grace the night…

Hmm, $573 divided by 10 people is about $60 per person...

Don't complain about the pricing. You will be happy to pay double that on the day of the fest when the hotel is the most solid structure in the area and the 6 tornadoes hit....

Maybe their tired of you guys stinking up their lobbies and not cleaning up after your bottle shares?

    Just a thought.

It's one day out of the year--and they probably book way more people on that day than any other given day of the year. It takes a couple extra trash bags and wipes of a wet washcloth than usual.

Besides that, the whole hotel is probably DLD attendees to begin with. I'm not one of the people who shares at hotels because there's more than enough for me at the fest, but it also doesn't bother me however much noise they make down there.

Either way, most hotels have been prohibiting shares in recent years.

They should line everything with plastic.

Regular behemoth has arrived. Of course, this means it is time for the glorious revelation of the 2020 wax color.

The Springhill Suites is requiring a 3 night stay this year, which is of course preposterous for a group that all lives in Chicagoland. What profiteering assholes. They raised their rates to $400 a night as well, which is just bonkers. Our group had stayed there the last two years, but it looks like this year is an uberXL or party bus. They can have our money instead.

Party bus is the way to go. My group of 11 did it last year. We had the party bus drop us off at 7:00A.M. and pick us back up at 9:30 P.M.... each of the 11 people paid maybe $40 total to drive us from Northbrook to Munster. Not to mention, was pretty entertaining on the way down to DLD and especially on the way back up after it.

Since my parents live right by the Lansing airport, I've never had to go through the experience of getting a hotel for DLD. Since I generally don't know, is Airbnb not really a thing in the NWI area? That would seem like a much cheaper route, but I wouldn't know if there are even any available.

Just go rent a 5 person RV from neighboring Schererville for $90 a night (Minimum 3 nights) and turn the thing in early. And negotiate in advance with a local business in the industrial park about parking it in their lot.... Your own crash pad and storage place feet from the event...

If you ask nicely one of the surrounding businesses would probably let you start building a dome in their parking lot. With the right combo of expertise and tools the overall cost per person to constructing and then tearing down your own structure is probably the cheapest way to stay in Munster for Dark Lord Day.

We did the Mercedes Sprinter Limo... 11 people was just the right number with all the bags & beers that we had.
