As a life long Marylander and a Baltimorean for the past 10 years, the only place I see Natty Boh is Baltimore. It is still very popular here for some reason but not across the rest of the state. And it still tastes like crap lol. Duckpin on the other hand is one of my staples. Cheers all!

I attended the National Homebrewers Conference that was held in Baltimore (2016). Several places that had meals in also had Natty Boh available to drink. Part of me wanted to give one a try (the do as the Romans do aspect) but the other part wanted to drink 'good' beer. The net result was that I never drank a Natty Boh during my visit; the 'good' beer argument won out.

    Cheers!

That was a great choice! I have one every now and then and still wonder why. Oh it was cheap that’s right.

That struck me as odd at first but doing it as they did makes sense. A BA is more likely to be know about the beers in near by states then in beers she/he can't get from far away states. I know a lot about the beers from NY or Penn. not to much about beers from OK.

Call me stupid but I asked for some in a trade and I enjoyed it. Shrugs.

Certainly wouldn’t call you stupid. I would have liked to have tried back when it was still made here. It has its place but so many better options here.

The top 3 for my state is baloney. Ghost in the Machine is probably deserving, but the other 2, absolutely not.

Lots of good ones here. But misses on a lot too. Particularly Illinois, Revolution tops the list. Missouri, where is Tank 7? Michigan, thank God they got Two-Hearted, but where are the rest of Bell's? Ohio needs more Great Lakes. Minnesota, where is Furious and Todd the Axe Man?
It's impossible to create a perfect list that resonates with everyone, but those are my quibbles.

Usually when I see these lists I regret reading them. But I really can't argue with the choices for Ohio. Sure there's lots of Ohio beers that deserve to be on that list, but I don't have any issues with the 3 that they did pick.

Having both Trillium Fort Point and Tree House Julius on the Massachusetts list seems a bit redundant since they were both trying to do the roughly the same thing at roughly the same time. I guess it can be hard to choose who was more influential though.

Would have been nice to see an older school brewery represented with something like Harpoon IPA or Ipswich Oatmeal stout or anything from Cambridge Brewing Company. All were very influential in their own way (and all are still relevant too).

Jack's Abby is a solid choice but Post Shift is an odd beer to single out. House Lager ticks all the same boxes but moreso.

    Fun list though.

Lame! They only gave Florida two beers! Jai Alai from Cigar City was a given...that beer is historical. I want some right now......*droooool*

Same with Florida. Six or so years ago you could get Hop Devil on tap at many restaurants in fact. We lost so many good breweries over the years. I miss Great Divide the most though. =(

That just bugs me! Centennial is iconic, but Two Hearted certainly beats them out in the history of the American IPA category. What they should have added was Founders Breakfast Stout. That's a core American beer that everyone knows. Although at the end of the day, my favorite Founders beer is Dirty Bastard!

Illinois... the Mikerphone Check 1,2 is definitely a miss. That beer was good 2 years ago. Now I don't think anyone even mentions it.

I am surprised to not see Veil, The Answer Brewpub, or even Triple Crossing mentioned. They have won awards and seem to be an attraction for folks visiting Richmond.

For Kentucky, they say Lexington Kentucky Bourbon Ale is a "no-brainer". I think they mean "no-palater", since anyone who's ever tasted that stuff knows it is crap and there are many, many much better beers brewed in the state and widely available.
