Locked up my mule. Oat Overdose,Quadrangles, Monkish.

You NYCers are lucky. While I'm a Tired Hands fanboy, they can't help but put adjuncts in their beer. "You know what would ruin this perfectly good IPA? Adding fruit that we found at Reading Terminal market"

Let the hops shine. Play around with the scheduling. Play around with your malt bill. But always let the hops shine.

You could get me to wear a Mets cap for City Slickers.

I picked up nummy nug nugs and oats
Overdose based on the reviews here. Also daydreams only so -50 hop shower points for me.

I'd be all for a roast pork IPA collab with denics or a donut pastry stout collab with beilers.

This man is "off topic". Please escort him out.

I haven’t gone to any of the pre-anni releases. Do they get crazy line-wise or are they milder since all re-brews?

But City Slickers is subtle, just one thing extra.

It's like seasoning a pork chop, you do salt & pepper and one herb. If you go crazy and add a whole bunch different extra herbs and spices you subtract.

ELAMAYO $20 for a 3.8% abv berlinner is outrageous.

If I only had money for 1 4-pack this release, I'd be buying City Slickers with no deliberation.

It has Lemon Zest as well as Prickly Pear. Its not a massive fruit bomb but it's definitely fruit forward.

I remember one of the weekday releases having a line starting at at little corner nook where they sometimes set up a food vendor and going around the back and out the door. I think it must have been the Florida Plates 1/Fully Frothed.

the first time around was city slickers released with no layups, the finback lime kolsch, and the creature comforts grits beer, or were those separate releases?

  16. Comparison_Ford

    Comparison_Ford Maven (1,293) Apr 4, 2014 New York

Separate. City Slickers was with Lime Green Galaxies, and No Layups was with the Creature Comforts pils and Suparillo.

I have very fond memories of Lime Green Galaxies. I realize it was not a kolsh; it was just tasty and refreshing in the summer.

It's been a while since I've had some OH's neighbor's beer, but tonight I had a draft pull of Foxfire from Folksbier (at Owl Farm; check out the Twilight Zone pinball, it's fair and fun) and that was a damn stellar tasting beer! Don't get me wrong- I love the "Other Half-ness" of all of OH's IPA's. I pretty much have stopped drinking other brewery's IPA's with rare exception; why fuck around when some world class shit is always available nearby? I know what I like. I make no apologies.

But...that Foxfire was fire. You could almost put it between two Other Half IPA's and suffer no palate fatigue. I guess what I'm saying is: drink at OH, pizza at F&F, wash it down with Folksbier, then go back to Other Half for some diabeetus stouts.

Going to have City Slickers FOMO for sure...as told myself not buying beer until their real Anniversary weekend. I guess I'm just going to myself that City Slickers won't be as enjoyable because it's too cold out...

This is no joke. Creamy dank is an understatement. Has a bit of that melon thing going on too.
