Didn't see a thread created for this year so I suppose I'll create one since I had a question. Is DDH King Sue going to make its way to Chicagoland distribution area or is that going to stay as Decorah release only?

Seen it and had it in other parts of Iowa and Minnesota so it's more then just a Decorah only release.

Just picked up a 4pk of King Sue canned on 1/20. Popped a can and it's got a little stank on it. Raging semi initiated.

I can’t tell if this means you really like it or you really don’t like it

Out of all the great haze we have available from local brewers, I still pick up a 4 pack of King Sue whenever it makes it's way here.

    Good point. I'll clarify.

As someone that doesn't need a prescription for those little blue pills quite yet, I would say that while I was ready to go full mast after seeing 3 day old King Sue, it was quickly tempered by the aroma and taste that was similar to my local dispensary.

It isn't bad and is still King Sue at heart, but this version sort of reminds me of the debate from a batch or two ago of Galaxy Bowl. For me personally, that dank, sticky-icky-icky flavor and smell is not one I typically associate with King Sue.

I realize others love it and other hate it, so have at it and feel free to add your own thoughts (about King Sue, not my junk).

I've only had King Sue a couple times (once on tap, once bottled), and both times it was a little more bitter than I like. Otherwise it was just a blast of citra (my favorite hop). Haven't had it in a long time, so now I'm kinda curious.

Say what you will about toppling goliath, but a friend of mine left a can of Pseudo Sue in my fridge months ago. It expired a fews ago and it still is a hop bomb. No oxidation and a massive Citra aroma. Gotta give credit where credit’s do, they’ve got one stable beer.

Drank a 4 pack of King Sue last night. Glad it's so readily available around here these days. I could've easily had 4 more.

It's mildly comforting to know that if I ever find myself in ND in January, I can probably find King Sue, or relatively fresh TG.

Haha, ya I have passed on PsuedoSue and King Sue on past trips to ND (have a customer in northern MN) due to freshness concerns, but decided to pick up almost 4 week old King Sue, and glad I did. BTW they also had stacks of BCBS, and olla and cheri

When Monk's tapped MD, they got like a single sixtel that kicked literally 15 minutes after tapping, and the pours were ridiculously priced too. Guessing this is going to be a similar experience.

I live in Fort Wayne, and a local place tapped MD, had a ticketed event. I went two days later and had a pour because they still had it left.
