Drinking this freshie Sand City/LIC beer Project DIPA called Even Mo Royale. It is delicious. Has that melon dank I can’t get enough of. This Kobe Bryant Shit is unbelievable. It seems like a joke. I’m not an NBA fan but he’s obviously a legend of the sport and it’s crazy that he’s (and his daughter) dead. RIP

One more before dinner. Union Jack with some chicken, sausage and veggie skewers in the background. Lighting ambience for your pleasure. Cheers!

Shocked and upset about the Kobe news. 41 years old is way too damn young. I bumped into him on vacation a couple of years ago in a restaurant near a beach. He was in shorts and a t shirt and with family. He looked just like a happy dad. The news is even worse given that his 13 year old daughter was also with him.

2020, you have come in swinging.

Picked up a 6-pack of Millstream Schlockade Bock for $3.99 at my magical Bettendorf Hy-Vee. Hands down, one of the best Bocks! Also picked up a 4-Pack of Abrasive for $7.99 and X-tra Citrus for $4.99!

The Kobe news hasn't set in yet. Growing up in the 90's and watching all the Bulls titles, I remember thinking that Kobe had the MJ look, that he would do anything to win. What a competitor.

I think they're hit or miss. I was there two weeks ago and thought the Belgian Quad was pretty good. The DIPA was better than when I first had it but not good enough to buy cans, especially since they were undated. I'd say give it a shot and see what you think. The good news is it's less than 10 minutes away from Twin Elephant.

Another Nugget Nectar. This is my last one from the 6-pack. Doubt I'll purchase more in 2020. I'm content, and thankful. Peace to that.

Cloudy, dark yellow body; thick and frothy white head. Kind of a spicy, citrus aroma. Surprisingly mellow juicy flavor; bitter with a touch of phenols; a bit spicy with an undercurrent of dull sweetness; bubblegum. Heavy body; warm and velvety; a tad acidic; a modicum of alcohol heat.

For a triple IPA, this beer is fairly subtle. It's New England / hazy lineage is there, providing some decent juiciness and sweetness, and perhaps that is why the alcohol content is so relatively hidden. I wouldn't recommend this one for the faint of heart, but for the adventurous soul, well, this beer might open some new experiential dimensions...
