I also severely dislike Breck Vanilla Porter, however....last year someone left a few in my fridge after a party and after drinking a few big stouts I wanted something smaller and didn't want to waste my good beers so I popped one. I actually enjoyed it more after having my palate wrecked by the imperial stouts and I noticed a slight butterscotch flavor that I normally had never picked up on before. Tried another one the next day on it's own and it tasted like garbage again.

I rarely drainpour anything, but the other day I took about 3 sips of this beer and knew it was time: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/435/75509

A year ago was probably my most recent purchase. It was pretty chugable then.

Maybe he pushed it and realized she was right when he cracked the last one that got him nagged at. Nothing "whipped" about looking out for your significant other. Unless, of course, he was whipped in which case I say, in the voice of Sam Kinison "STILL LOVE YA HONEY!"

People sometimes buy me something they think I'll like and guess what....I don't. Although IPAs are my favorites, I don't care for Belgian IPAs or English IPAs and more often than not, this is what I get as gifts. I can't give it away to anyone who knows the person who gave it to me and so it becomes a drain pour since all my beer drinking friends know one another.

When it reads Arcadia B-Craft. That shit was unbearable, a few sips were enough for a headache... the worst varietal of hops mixed with overly burnt malts and really strong liquorice. Only drainpour thus far, and I am not sure what to expect from an infected beer, but I think that one may have been.

I won't say it's horrendous. However, the vanilla tastes like artificial flavoring. It also happens to be the dominant note and characteristic of this beer (it doesn't taste very much like a porter). And it's overly sweet.

Drainpouring Ruination is sacrilege. I hope you wouldn't do that today.

I loved that beer. I would drink cases of it. I'm pissed I only got one bottle.

At least try mixing them one time. See what happens.

Also, do you know or come in contact with any of these things called women? They seem to like those kind of beers.

Duck Rabbit went through a pretty serious infection problem earlier this year - that could have been part of the issue.

Exactly my thoughts on the beer. Although I did push my way through the only sixer I bought of it. I coundln't get myself to pour it.

I'll probably do the same. I had one last night. Now I'm down to two left. I'll probably not end up drainpouring it in the end. But the day I'm out of the stuff can't come soon enough for me. I find myself going out to make a beer run when I've only got beers that are good candidates for drain pours on hand. That fact kind of prolongs their shelf life too unfortunately.
