Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition and Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition with Vanilla & Coffee are available at Bottles & Cans.

    $13.99 + tax, 2 bottles per person.

Having the "regular" version now and I have buyer's remorse. It's OK, but compared to the Revolution cans in my fridge this is pretty basic. Hoping the 'nilla / coffee version is better. Caveat Emptor.

Jackie Os makes amazing barleywines but I always get a weird dog food taste off their stouts. Is this just me?

( I admit I don’t actually know what dog food tastes like...)

Do you own a dog and do you leave your beer unattended?

I know pricing is a common complaint but I mentioned earlier I had been interesting in trying Dosvidanya this year as I normally really enjoy it. The cans I found were either $13 or $14 for 16oz and I just could not justify that at all. Major bummer.

Were previous releases in bombers or their 16.9oz bottles? I’ve never actually got bottles (only draft), so unsure.

Yep. 16.9oz/500ml bottles as long as I've known about the beer. Dos has always been pricey. Unfortunately.

Yeah, I’ve always thought Destihl was slightly overpriced with much of their distributed beers to begin with. But at least they didn’t increase the price on these cans. Aren’t these technically cheaper now? I thought they were closer to $18-20 per bottle, but maybe I’m off on that.

You know you all could be right, I didn't realize their old bottles were only 16.9oz. I knew they weren't full bombers, bu yeah the current pricing is probably $2/3 less than what it used to be.

I guess my willingness to spend a lot on these stouts is the difference now haha.

I actually picked up the Dosvidanya cans this year because they had dropped in price (~$2/$3) compared to previous years, so I decided to splurge and they did not disappoint.

There’s a lot of options around here these days, so you have every right to pick and choose!

Its to the point where I'm overwhelmed with choices... I don't even know half the options on shelves anymore.

It's absurd. My downstate Binny's now is carrying Hoof Hearted, Schramm's, Energy City, Tilquin, and several others that I'm blanking on. I just said F it, grabbed the new CW Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter and left.

Schramm's distroing here now is going to be a big problem. I don't need easy access to mead.

Having the vanilla/coffee version while watching the "big game"...and it's better. The vanilla shines through, but I get more chocolate syrup than coffee, personally.

I'd buy this one once a year, and pass on the schwag "regular" version moving forward.

I actually found the rye yesterday for just $7 a can, I am blown away by the variance in retail pricing there. It's like $5-6 cheaper, I almost wonder if the $7 was a mistake.

Rye did not disappoint though, Dos is simply an outstanding beer.

BA Imperial Fun Size was really good for the style. I am not a pastry stout guy, so it is fairly sweet for me but it tastes like the upper end beers in this category. I liked the BA Movember ALOT though. Pretty decent deal too at $15 a 2-pack (16oz cans).

Yeah, that's gotta be a mistake. IIRC Rye Dos has been double that, or close to it. And agree that Rye Dos is always pretty fantastic. Last year the regular BB was great too.

Claire’s Thirsty tapping 2/13 @ beer cellar Geneva. It’s part of their Galentine’s Day party. Total parks & rec style celebration. Even a waffle bar on Thursday night. Leslie Nope would approve

Unfortunately disappointed in Barrel Aged Lumberjack Breakfast from Hailstorm. I have really enjoyed the regular version in the past, but the can I had of the BBA was insanely artificially sweet. I don't usually complain about stouts being too sweet - but this one is just too much, and not by a little bit either.
