Kind of curious how that will score there seeing it stacked up against the quality of SP. Hard to know if people will just judge it on novelty though.

this 110% and what I was trying to get at in an earlier post.

I have low expectations after the ba vip SB3..

Had a taster of both cane life and I’m a bit stuffy but I couldn’t really discern the difference or much of the adjuncts. A pass for me just avg at best. On the other (half) hand All Riot Everything was very good

Curious what comes after the banana craze reaches its terminal stage...maybe time to revisit literal baked goods in stouts?

The ETNYC Wild Thai Banana Split stout is actually really good.

Last night, I drank (some of) my bottle of Deep Orbit: Polaris (imperial stout with almond joy and mounds). I thought they got better at stouts? It was not very good. Sugar water.

Yeah I think there was some sort of groupthink thing going on with the stouts that peaked a few months ago. I was totally guilty of making that claim but now realize it’s nonsense for the most part. Probably just palate deadening if anything

Its a 16% stout with literal candy in it, what did you expect? Campfire Smores is pretty good so I don't think all their stouts are bad.

I am too stupid and cheap to pour out beers, but that one was one of the first I did after a few sips.

I think the lesson is definitely buyer beware, and if the choice is another IPA 4 pack or a bottle of stout based on your carrying ability/budget, go IPA if you want to be safe, and just get some Ben and Jerry's and a ripe banana on the way home. Personally, I've only had a relative handful of their stouts, but their best remains oil slicks in my opinion, with the only great pastry Stout being the one they did with evil twin last anniversary. Caveat, I'm not a big pastry Stout person, and I actually think I need to go buy some plain ole Even More Jesus at $12/four pack to get away from barrel aging or Butterfingers/marshmallows/organic non-GMO wild thai banana stouts and see if it's what I remember when I didn't regularly have the ability to get all these aged or adjunct offerings and would jump on a four pack when it got to my local store.

I remembered loving the 13.8% version with coconut. Had a pour inside the tap room and I'm still kicking myself for not going back to pick up bottles that day.

What’s up bitches, I am back. Something must have been wrong with my login or my 19th century device wouldn’t allow me to post in this thread, but all seems good now.

lots of changes here, wonder if @frozyn was eaten by lion. Malcolm must be on an extended bike ride, Flobro came and went like a comet and a new superstar that loves smoked beer has appeared to save us all.

anyone lined up for 6th anni yet?

To answer my own question re: short dark. Maybe a touch sweeter than normal / I would have liked. But still great to see it back in action. And agree with your assessment of 4am @Feaor

revisiting my powdered cheese vs centre growler fill poll... i wound up going with the cheese because a) I still had a can of centre at home and b) the taster of PC had something unique I couldnt put my finger on. After finishing that growler saturday (with a friend, I'm not an animal), I realized I'm a sucker for a strong hop aroma, and I'm pretty sure it's the 100% powdered hops thing that brought that out. you could smell it across the room. It was really quite good, but the mouthfeel is a little different, once again i think from the powder only thing going on.

They didn't have short dark on tap when I stopped in later on Sat and I didn't buy it because I was unsure how sweet it was going to be. glad to see its only slightly sweeter.
