Can't tell if this spends any time in a spirit barrel but either way...

I just had the pleasure of having both Galaxy Brau and Mass Rising. Both are excellent and extremely clear with the tagline Cut Through the Haze on the can.

I've been drinking their DIPL (makes me laugh every time) since ABC'S and I like this new spin on MR. Don't recall eureka or eukanaut in prior iterations. Overall less like a DIPA this year and with more "lager" characteristics. Hops are dialed back, malt shows with mild sulfur.

    GB, I'd welcome anytime anywhere.

The ABCS was so fucking good.

Haven’t had the chance to sample my cans that I picked up of both of these on Monday but so excited to try once I get back based on all the positive reviews.

I think the link was to the "original" batch.

What @YourDigitalGrave said! I'm not sure what changes they've made to the recipe or whether this one is barrel aged. Interested to hear.

It spends time in barrels after Framinghammer comes out, so there is still some bourbon flavor picked up but not nearly as much as Framinghammer. This batch was brewed in December 2018 and is not scheduled for release until November so it will be just shy of 2 years aging at release.

The 12.7% was filler from a non final version of the label. This batch will be 14%.

A quick update on the beer finder and trying to get the store order the beer for me. Asking the beer manager at the local WF to order the beer did the trick: I now have a fresh sixpack in the fridge. That being said, the beer finder doesn't show that the store has it. Not sure how long will it take to show up the right data.

There is some lag time between delivery until the software picks up on it, typically around 3 business days.

Glad to hear you got Smoke & Dagger at your local place! And thank you for taking the time to request it.

    The Galaxy Brau. WOW.

It’s cliche but I can’t believe I didn’t get more when I visited on Monday. Hops on full display. Practically crystal clear and so refreshing.

One of the better beers I’ve had in a long time. Really enjoyed it.

I was actually kinda disappointed in the Galaxy Brau, after really liking the Citra Brau they did last year. Had that great galaxy aroma but I found the malt to be a little too dominant in the flavor.

Here's the thing though, a slightly disappointing version of this style is still an easy drinking lager at its base. This whole concept is, literally and figuratively, very refreshing after a decade of sustained haze mania.

Just had a Galaxy Brau. It isn't WOW but it is quite nice.

    Still prefer House Lager.

I just had the new Springdale flagship IPA and that was a clear brew as well. Interesting.

Picked up Galaxy Brau over the weekend. Pretty good.

here’s my problem though, now that Sunny Ridge is released at this time of year also, I’m likely to go with that pretty much every time.
Different styles, I know, but if I’m looking at a cooler of JA, a 6er or SR is just likely to jump into my hands. Can’t be helped.

Galaxy Bräu is quite good. Not really a "crusher" like a lot of their less-hoppy lagers, but definitely a worthy addition to the lineup. I will definitely drink more of it.

Which is funny, because while not "hazy" in the New England IPA sense, the Sunny Ridge I had yesterday had a slight haze to it. Definitely not crystal clear.

It was good, but not as good some of the previous years. I feel as if the "better" years they were crystal clear. I need to have it again on a fresher palate though.
