New rules for those not currently part of the Q&A Fan Page on fb.....

"Effective immediately, new members wanting to join Q&A will require a vouch from a current member(s) in order to join the group. This is how it will work:
    • A vouch thread will be required before a new member will be formally added to the group
    • A sponsor (current member in good standing) will be required to start the vouch thread
    • The sponsor is the one who will add the new member to the group and will ultimately be tied to the vouch of the new member
    • The sponsor understands that they will be removed along with the new member if the new member breaks the rules
In addition, we have also set the group privacy settings to ‘hidden’ which means only current members will be able to find this group.
Please use this thread to voice any questions or concerns you have in a respectful way. Cheers!"

I like the Answer itself, but that fb group is just a bunch of dudes needlessly chugging beers or people begging for/pics of 8 bit glassware. You're not missing anything.

That would be pretty much the extent of it. I can scroll for days and it's generally that or non-locals (sometimes even locals) telling some sob story about how they misse / can't make a release or want {insert any Answer beer / glass} because it reminds them of their father's father mother, their childhood playing Megaman with their best friend Billy down the street who moved away or they broke the glass they just received when washing it for the very first time.

The couple types of posts I do like is people traveling and sharing Answer beers with others or those who are making their first trip to The Answer from far away and how excited they are to be coming.

Those new rules seem really excessive, I wonder what the reason is.

Trolls apparently. I'm not sure if there was more than one thread yesterday but apparently a couple people made comments about The Answer trying to make a profit off someone's death with the two Kobe inspired Joose yesterday. They kept on and on about it while the admins and some other regular Answer folks were defending them saying there was not any intent with it. A bunch of keyboard warrior back & forth. Fast forward a few hours later and you see An's post where he made two charitable donations with the profits from the sale of those Crowlers then it circles back to a big "i told you so" by those defending the Answer.

(P.S. the very first thought I had when An posted the Crowlers in the Giving Tree was the exact same thinking it was not the best decision. After thinking about it a few minutes I swayed the other way thinking regardless of the name it would have probably sold out either way. I can see both sides of it. Who knows if the plan all along was to donate the profits or whether that decision was made after the fact when the bashing went down but if it was the original plan it would have come off much better if they would have led the original post letting people know a donation would be made from the sales of those two. All that being said I think Answer really did it to honor the man and not a sales measure).

With the exception of maybe 450N, it's difficult to think of any beer fanbase as sensitive and defensive as that Facebook group, boy oh boy. The people wondering whether Answer was looking to profit off of the likeness of a guy and his daughter who died in a terrible accident 2 days ago (super duper tacky, well-intentioned or not) were perfectly justified to do so, and it triggered the group altogether to go on yet another self-righteous power trip.

In any case, I'm glad they made the donation even if we can't know their original plan (although seeing as they're the ones giving $2k and not me, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt).

Anyway... Joose crowlers are typically released Thurs, right?

Try the trade forums with stasis BL as your FT (if you have access to them). Winter is the time to try and ship answer crowlers as they can explode if not kept cold.

Releasing tomorrow (2/12) at Ingenious Brewing....

The last beer in our can release is a collaboration we are very excited to announce. A month ago we had the opportunity to spend 5 incredible days with some of the most generous people in the craft beer industry. During that time we brewed a collaboration stout with our good friends from The Answer Brewpub and Black Ninja Design. Thus creating Cowboy Cookie. Cowboy Cookie is a 10.5% imperial milk stout conditioned on peanut butter, toasted coconut, cinnamon sticks, and pecans. This lusciously thick stout has notes of chocolate, roasted peanut butter, and toasted coconut, followed by a smooth finish with lingering notes of cinnamon and pecan.

Available on draft and in 4-pack cans this Wednesday. $24 per 4-pack, no limit
Note: This beer will also be available for Hop Culture Can Club Members.
    Cheers!

In town for the bottle release today. Is there usually a line that forms? If so, what is a safe arrival time?
