For the base and the coconut/coffee/vanilla, I think if you offered up multiple, I think a trade is possible. The pecan, I think you will need a bigger anchor.

 

Do you believe BA Bananaversary + Non-BA Bananaversary would close a BBTb3?

 

Would a dribbles be 1:1 with a maman 19 or would I need to add a plus, if so, how big of a plus. I’m not easily offended so please be honest.

Simple answer no. Having at least had BA Banana and BBT3 I don't see that happening. However, considering the hype who knows what someone with 2-3 BBTs will do. I believe BA Bananaversary will be closer to VR when it's all said and done, which is really great. However, it's very difficult to provide valuation on a bottle that isn't trading yet. Pairing BA Banana with the non-BA may get you a nicer bottle. Hope this helps.

I have a store I can get Pliny the Elder from semi-consistently. They stock Russian River all year long but obviously the Pliny's generally don't last longer than 72 hours. Is trading 1:1 for a Heady Topper a reasonable deal?

Out of curiosity where did you read or hear that pliny only last 72 hours?

 

Also where Ca are you because heady got released all over sf Bay Area for beer week. Dm and I can probably help you out.

 

What I mean is that the store stocks on Fridays and is generally runs out over the weekend, while their other still legendary stuff like Consecration sits there. Granted, Consecrations sour and like $16 for a 12oz.

I'd think your wrong on this. I traded hard for Bbt3 and regret it , it's definitely not bbt2. I don't have have and haven't had the ba banana but I can say the regular is excellent. The ba+ non seems like it should be pretty close.

 

Nice of you to state that Rusty. This guy has to have some access heady somewhere in the state but seriously that beer is utter garbage. I had one can years ago. If you have access to Pliney then you likely have access to beer like Heady but not having had to travel across the county and is just better overall. What part of Cali do you live in?

 

I'm down in Newport Beach in Orange County. The more I research Heady Topper and watch head to head reviews of the two beers, the more confident I am in assuming Pliny is the "better" beer, but I still need to try it for the experience. Kinda seems like a 1A and a 1B type thing. I have heard people say Topper isnt as good as it used to be in recent years but I would guess thats just due to overly hyped nostalgia or changes in palette over time.

If anyone has other God tier DIPA's or IPA's I should be looking for that distribute in California, please let me know! The cashier at one of my local craft stores mentioned a beer that doesn't stay on the shelves longer than 24 hours that wasnt Pliny or Heady Topper, but I can't remember the name!
