April is a busy month, but the 5th is a great day for me. Consider me 'in'.

    Thanks for the tag, @Roguer

I think we're going to go with similar participation rules from the last BIF (@beertunes can correct me if I'm out of turn). Meaning:

-Sign-ups must have a history in this BIF itself, posting in NBS, or be vouched by a current participant in good standing.
-Participation in NBS from the BIF is required - at a minimum, on the share date itself, but participation throughout is encouraged. Trying out some of your sender's beers outside of NBS is fine, but it's always appreciated if you link a review in the H&H thread - since the whole point of this BIF is to get your target new beer, and specifically to encourage participation in NBS.
-Participation in the H&H thread is required. Last time, we went with, what, two posts a week? Continued hints until your target correctly guesses his/her sender (or your box(es) arrive)?

Pretty straightforward and bare minimum requirements, IMO.

I've participated in 6 NBS BIF's plus the mini during the 2018 holiday season, so that's 7 shipments. I've also received 3 or 4 Ninja/LIF packages, so 10 or 11 packages since the first one I participated in back in the fall of 2016.

I'd guess I've received somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 beers, all new to me. That's nearly 5 years worth of NBS beers if I reviewed them one per week (not that there's any chance of that - I deal in NBS volume).

Roll that around in your melon for a minute.

And these are all high-level beers - nary a shelf turd to be seen. I still have a couple of BA bombers from @Ozzylizard from NBS BIF 007 2 years ago (though I see one of those finally succumbing in this coming week's NBS), I have stuff from ninja packages from @JBowenGeorgia and @SammyJaxxxx from later that year, I know I have a big ol' imperial stout from @beerloserLI that quite frankly terrifies me (I think it's like 16% ABV), and I still have a decent amount of stuff from @larryi86 from NBS BIF X (some big time sours), as well as a couple of LIF beers from @2beerdogs from the same BIF. And I'm sure I've left someone out (my apologies - I am old and feeble minded).

When I say the amount of beer I've received is staggering, there is nothing rhetorical in that statement. It's literally staggering - I have stuff in 3 different beer fridges.

So in summary, I've received a TON of great beer, I've made a bunch of beer nerd friends, and the Hints & Hauls thread is as much fun as a human being can have with their clothes on. These NBS BIF's are the greatest thing ..... ever, especially if you're a beer nerd (guilty as charged, your honor).

I buy a lot of beer.

    A LOT of beer.

Plus, I'm a saver, especially with BA stuff. Love to see the way the beer evolves with some age, and I don't like really "hot" beers because, whilst I enjoy the taste of bourbon as an accent, I don't like it at all when it's pure bourbon (if that makes sense).

The bottle I'm gonna crack from @Ozzylizard is Huge Arker from Anderson Valley, an imperial stout aged in Wild Turkey barrels. I read somewhere that it can be really hot when it's "young." After sitting in my beer fridge for nearly two years, it has graduated to "next in line." I absolutely cannot wait to try it.

I always say I have more of a beer buying problem, not a beer drinking one. Also just used Belgium in a Box and Etre Gourmet for the first time, which hasn't helped my buying "problem"

I've found myself not even going to the beer store recently and just drinking through my stock. I could do this for months and still have plenty to drink.

Most of it is good stuff, but I went through a 'cellar building' phase when I got into craft. Lots of 2-3 year old Exhibition, Ten Fidy, Founder's Imperial Stout, etc. etc. sitting and getting some age.

If my target likes aged beers, I may have some stuff I can share.

Same here. I tend to buy too many of things like KBS, anything Firestone Walker in a box etc. How do you not grab Parabola when you see it, right? Then I end up with more than I can reasonably drink. I think I still have close to a case of the Lagunitas High-West-ified from a few years ago because I couldn't stop buying it at $12 a six pack. Trying to be more disciplined with what / how much I buy, but I definitely relapse from time to time!

Also, we still need a theme. I have a favorite in mind:

This guy is the best I've ever seen at doing his thing of anybody I've ever seen doing anything. he, at his peak was Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Johnny Unitas all rolled into 1. But, I'm open to suggestions., and we did just have a Bill Elliot round in #9. And, we still haven't used "Estonian Ticks".......

Bill Elliott could still be the #11 mascot (late career Bud car) but if you’re sayin’ Steve Kinser then hell yeah!!!

For me, NASCAR 11 will always be Cale and Darrell in Juniors car. The Busch Bullet and The Dew Crew! (and, the Elliot round kinda confused some folks, I can only imagine what kind of aneurysm's might be cause by people looking up Steve Kinser trivia for hints might cause. But, I do love me some chaos and anarchy in a BIF......)

(BTW, if your into Old School NASCAR, and have FB, ya might wanna join this group https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=winston cup history 1971-2003&epa=SEARCH_BOX . One JJs old crew guys posts there often, and tells some stories and secrets. Good times).

Nice! RIP Junior, they just don’t make ‘em like that anymore. For me ‘old school’ NASCAR ended 2.18.01 (don’t judge).

I was never an Ironhead fan. But, I will (albeit grudgingly) will give him some credit. he could drive, and it always seemed to me that he would plow people over just for his own amusement.

i lived in Upstate NY the first 40 years of my life, watching modifieds. Jimmy Spencer was the 2nd roughest racer I ever saw (after Geoffrey Bodine), and never really cared for him. But, when he got to Cup, he'd give it right back to Ironhead, and the 3 car never seemed to bark much about it. Hmmm
