Memory Lane is one of the best west coast IPAs I've had in a very long time. Try it out if you see it

so Rage Against the Machine just announced a 2020 tour with Run the Jewels opening, two shows at MSG in August... hopefully this means a re-brew of Stay Gold... one of my favorite beers from these guys... would be even better if they serve it at the garden for that show, but can't see that happening...

Can't wait to try the new stouts!

Tomorrow we’re releasing our barrel aged stout collaboration with @kanebrewing. Jesse first met Michael when they were both working hard to get breweries open on the Jersey shore back in 2010. Since then Kane Brewing has become renowned for their beers, from IPA to barrel aged stout. Michael and Glenn work so much with ex-spirit barrels, naturally they have an interest in distilling, and were stoked to make a whiskey and stout. For this stout, team Kane sourced Old Forester barrels, and we aged them over 21 months.

Available for pick up or order via IRT- $15/500ml bottle

    SPECIAL COUNSEL
BARREL AGED IMPERIAL STOUT - aged 21 months
    ABV: 12% • IBU: 19 • SRM: 40 • OG: 24.6°P
Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Kane Brewing Co., this beer was brewed in Nov of 2018. A base of English Pale malt blended with roasted, kilned and stewed barley, with a touch of oats. Little hop character. Drinks easy with a dry finish. Big barrel nose of butterscotch & vanilla, flavors of barrel, dark fig and plum notes. This beer will be perfect with braised or roasted meats, just in time for slow cooked roasts as the weather gets cold.

Also available: VANILLA PECAN variation - same great barrel aged stout - chocked full of nuts and vanilla beans.

Vanilla Pecan variation has an incredible nose: candied pecans, brown sugar, coconut. The initial taste is great with a lot of the same notes and some chocolate. There's a roasty acidity that I don't love, though it fades as the beer warms. The vanilla is a bit strong for me, but that's the case for me with most vanilla beers. I wish the mouthfeel was a bit more coating but it isn't their fault stouts have to compete with motor oil these days.

Have you tried the regular BA version? If so, report back.

The regular version smelled like sour milk and got poured out. The only review on untappd is favorable so perhaps it's just my reaction to that same roastiness I didn't love in the pecan'd variant.

I'm really enjoying the Louder Than a Bomb can I followed it up with. It's got that same candied fruit note that Grimm beers often have and it plays really nicely with the fruity notes, but without the hazy turbid frothy thing so many do. It's drinking really nicely and the flavors are a great reminder of what these beers can taste like if you give them a few days to come together.

A bit disappointed with the anniversary triple - maybe it’s just green. Might drink really good in 2-3 weeks....

I've been disappointed with their IPA for a while now. Their 2nd Anniversary IPA was the probably last one I remember being impressive.

It might just be their house yeast, but I've found that most of their IPA's have that "green" abrasiveness to them.
