I haven’t like any standalone nelson beers from OH, but I gambled on a 4 pack of Double Chroma and I’m really glad I did.

How about that blast from Pulock tonight?? Just hope Casey is alright. He’d be a huge loss.

Side note: drank my last Tall, Dark (coconut) from November on Sunday and it was still amazing. Thick too.

Still a lot of cans of 6th Anniversary at DTC in Gaithersburg. I picked up a 4 pack tonight and an Idiom/Sapwood Cellars collab. Also, DTC still has 3 or 4 Other Half beers on draft.

How is the hazy sapwood stuff and do they offer growlers/crowlers of stuff not available in cans?

Sapwood does great hazy beers. The owners Scott and Mike really know what they are doing.

DTC offers crowler and growler fills, however, I guess they are restricted from doing that with OH beers. OH were the only beers on the board not eligible for take home fills. DTC has a lot of premium beers on draft. A lot of stuff I don’t find elsewhere.

Tired Hands is the only brewery where I'll drink Nelson beers from. Something about their house yeast strain thats fairly lights pairs very well with Nelson. Also makes sense since I thought Oat Overdose might have been the best IPA they released in all of the anniversary releases

Alvarado's Nelson Slayer is really really good. Nelson is hit or miss for me, or has been in the past, but that beer bangs. I am pretty sure its a collab with SARA and Cellarmaker. Also Kane's Ripple is a really good nelson session.

Another Nelson beer to seek out is Hill Farmstead's Double Nelson. It is absurdly good. IMO, few breweries do a better job with single hop beers than Shaun/HF.

Agreed on Stillings/DDH Stillings Street. Original and early batches were something special.

I was going to mention Double Nelson, but I felt like we talk about HF enough haha

I feel like hill farmstead double :insert hop here: no matter what hop it is, ends up being an excellent representation of the hop flavor profile.

Hill’s take on Double Nelson is exquisite, even more so at a single hopped level. However, this may actually be a deterrent to the OP, given their preference to counter that hop with another

That being said, HF is also prolific and effective with Nelson combinations (e.g. Three Magic Letters: Simcoe, Nelson, and Riwaka @ 6%)...perhaps a more suitable option for the OP

Ok maybe, but where's my Hill Farmstead Wild Thai Banana Triple BA Garbage Pastry Damon named after an insular in-joke borne out of a line-share?*

Staying on the Nelson topic, Alpine Nelson (circa 2010 - 2013) is still the best Nelson beer I ever had. A shame Green Flash had to come in and screw things up.

I'm easing my way toward an actual visit to OH to buy cans at the source.
Bought a 4-pack of Oh... at Haymaker last night before catching a train home from Penn. Before that the only OH beers I'd had were single cans of 4 beers (DDH Double Citra Daydream, Citra + Galaxy, True Green, The Green in Your Area), bought at cost from a friend 2 years ago. But as much as I'd like to try other OH beers, I'll refrain from buying any from Ronkonkoma, even though it's only ~15 minutes from home.

Specifically they were going to be in the 1 South First building, which I think is finished. Residential units are available now anyway.
