Hop Butcher (2020)

I like Green Moss. Always been one of my favorite beers from them. The other week I drank a Green Moss after having a Double Dungeons and I could taste nothing but lactose.

 

Sweetness is subjective. DG has always been sweet, but traditionally that has been balanced out by the extreme fruit flavor and hoppy bitterness that all seem to achieve a balanced unity.

 

Pretty decent stack of TWCCE at Binnys Bolingbrook

 

I got lucky and got one of the last two at Binnys Des Plaines yesterday. With today's pricing by some breweries, it is kind of a steal at $17.99 for a 10% stout, that is really, really good.

 

Just grabbed DG and Colombian at Bloomingdale Binny's. They were the last ones sitting on the customer service counter so may be all gone. Yay me!

 

Columbian 2 packs 10 each at ginosnin Elgin prob at least ten 2 packs available.

 

Does Binny's EP always sell out same day? Guess I'll need to just wait in the parking lot next time until they arrive...

Yeah, DG is too sweet for me now. OIB Double Beezer could be my preferred Citra/Mosaic neipa....

 

Had the same thing happen to me after drinking a Snowy Window and following it up with a Green Moss, which has been one of my favorites as well.

 

Saw some people on FB today complaining that TWCCE was bad because it wasn’t thicc or sweet and was too bitter and hoppy.

We have officially reached the point of beer evolution where the kids don’t know what a RIS is any more.

 

We all knew the day the pastry bois ruled the earth would eventually come. Sad day, America. Sad day.

 

Lulz. Had one last night. I'd say medium body-ish and definitely has that HB underlying sweetness to it. Which I just presume at this point is from you know what. Always an enjoyable coffee stout in my book.

 

How’s it compare to juice pants. I’m currently in love with that beer

 

I feel the same about DG, didn’t even bother picking up this batch. Is Double Beezer that good? I may have to try it. Beezer is very average imo, but I also typically don’t prefer single NEIPAs. So maybe the double hits all the notes I’m normally looking for.

 

Struggling trying to find double beezer to try. As I feel as you do beezer never blew me away but all the praise on this double makes me want to try.

 

There's a joke in there about "the struggle is real"...
Many smaller shops got their deliveries for Dbl Beezer this past week, but no Binny's just yet as those should come this upcoming week. It is listed on Binny's at $15.99/4pk which seems right in line with others. (sorry, just realized this is the Hop Butcher thread...)

 

This is the first year since maybe 2016 I didn't buy any. It's a really good coffee stout, but I have too many coffee stouts in my fridge right now.
