Do you think it will make it better or worse without the wine barrel? I haven't tried it myself and I did pick up the bottle in the archive sale. But I won't get to try it before 2020 comes out. I just filled a shipper a couple of weeks ago and it probably won't be until April before I have enough bottles for another one.

As a side note, it appears that shipping has slowed down again. Maybe it's because of the 2019 cellaring deadline.

Honestly no idea... Bourbon and wine are both great on their own, but the two together always made me raise a skeptical eyebrow.

With the original, I don't know if I could have broken apart which fruity elements came from the berry and which from the wine, but since it's barrel and not must or juice I'm assuming most was berry.

They obviously had lots of wine barrels at the time, and perhaps that phase is over? Or maybe it's an indication they felt there wine was lost in the blend?

I think part of it was that they were aging BT in red wine barrels that year.

I was wondering. I ordered boxes on the 6th and haven't heard anything yet. However the last time I ordered the only email I got was the delivered email.

Am I missing out on anything with the Hoarders Cuvee's?

I tried the 2016 and thought it was OK. '18 sounds great on paper, but it's not rated higher than "17.

I’ve only tried the ‘17 and really enjoyed it

My subjective opinion for Bruery (not Terreux) is that 16 was incredible, 17 was not bad (worth trying for a completist, but also ok to pass on), and 18 is super good BUT hard to justify the steep price.

16 cuvee was by far my favorite, and still my favorite bruery beer.

16 cuvee was epic, for the price point the rest of them available on the sale are meh imo.

OK Boomer! LOL Sorry, I've been to beer festivals for years and line-cutting has always been a problem. I agree that the community is not the same...but I still enjoy the events myself. Going to stand in line unnecessarily for hours just for a pour of Pliny the Younger just for old times sake now! LOL

Just had White Chocolate with raspberries. Wow this is a good beer. The smell and taste is raspberries, followed by vanilla and chocolate. The vanilla and chocolate flavors faded a bit once the beer warmed up. I see nothing wrong with this beer if you like raspberries.

Gotta admit that first hoarders box doesn’t look impressive for my tastes to buy this one

Keep in mind what's up now includes that tasting event... Will be interesting to see price point for box on its own. Could be they're trying to lower box price and that's why the descriptions feel less than prior rounds.

Question about the Guest Access cards we get with our memberships-
I know it gives the holder access to trying membership beers on tap, does it do anything other than that (discount)?

Love bites, wow. Strawberry milk chocolate. This is exactly what I would expect a Valentine's dessert beer to taste like. Chocolate covered strawberries.

Yea, I thought it was pretty good. It's a couple bucks too expensive in my opinion though.
