No, it's long been canon around there that all the beers need about that much time to be really good. I just find the double to be much more drinkable early.

edit: and that the doubles are more consistently good with less heft than the triples. Occasionally a triple blows me away (hdhc AGE), but rarely seems worth it.

it's nice that they're considerate of how much time it takes to ship across the country.

I really hope Big Hairy Pussycat Distribution Co. keeps the beer in a temp-controlled environment at all times

that don't matter. one can will be split across a bunch of doubled up mcdonalds paper ketchup cups at a share so 10 people can tick it off. And then to ensure that they can still trade their remaining cans - they'll all mark it at 4.25 or higher.

It's an unspoken rule that us "Southerners" get the early drops but refrain from commenting on the quality or the fact that ROC offerings > BK offerings.

While there are certainly some gems in the Roc beers, I'm a bit underwhelmed by DDH Double Red Chroma given the buzz. I'll take DDH ACE over that, Space Diamonds over Purple Chroma, and Forever Simcoe over Blue Chroma

It's OK. I'm just easing into my local-ness as the DC outpost inches closer to opening.

What do you see as the difference between Red Chroma and ACE? I thought Red Chroma came off as sweeter in comparison but these are my first OH's in awhile so I'm not sure.

The Chroma series in general has mostly been underwhelming to me. Double Yellow is the first that I've thought was a hands-down improvement over its Brooklynite cousin.

But I've loved everything I've had from the wacky food name series (Hamburger Highway, Baked Potato Spaghetti Town, etc.).

That was my take too. I too would take ACE over Red Chroma (and HDHC ACE over both of them / anything). But still was a very solid beer and better than nothing (citra). Also nice that it stuck around a bit. Despite a long run of staying relatively under the radar, ACE gets snapped up super quick now.

I didnt get the DDH Double Red Chroma yet, but reg Double Red Chroma seemed to me to be a dumbed down version of ACE, just didnt hit the mark. The purple, blue and such all again like @algebeeric_topology mentioned just lagged behind the BK counterparts, had a lack of "punch" for lack of better words.

Btw all the earlier talk about AGE-burn. My super hot, ex-Victoria’s secret, ultra smokeshow of a wife picked me up a 4 pack because she was there earlier. For better or worse this may be the smoothest AGE out the gate to date. Or am I late. Mate.

Isn't the driest version where you fill the glass with gin and wave a bottle of vermouth over it?

Gambled on getting beer before heading to GCT and it is no line... plenty of beer...

Also they are giving away boxes of white cheddar popped water lily seeds.
