    When Mrs. BeerGoot likes goat meat, I know I have a winner...

    I've always loved things like lamb, so goat seems a natural. I actually got into it because we used to call my dad "The Old Goat". When he and my mom visited us in Colorado Springs 15-20 years ago, I found a goat roast of some sort at a farmer's market. I can't remember what recipe I had for that, but it involved carrots, parsnips, potatoes and onions and turned out pretty good, too.

    A local butcher shop (Andy's Meat Market -- maybe you know of them from your time here) carries a variety of specialty meats, so I picked up a package of goat meat a couple of months ago and froze it. I finally decided to use it but couldn't find any decent recipes, so, loving Hatch 505 and anything green chili, I improvised, and this evening's meal turned out surprisingly well...

    My dad died in 2008, but I'm sure he would have loved this dish, too...

    Agreed. The wheat wine is a tasty brew, but is no barleywine.

    Getting at it with a beer from Celestial out of Dallas, TX. Not as good as the last beer from Baa Baa, as that stuff was on the penthouse level. Peace...

    I should hopefully sleep pretty well after this final not-stout beer. DFH 120 minute IPA. Delicious as ever. Great crisp nose. Wonderful flavor. Heavy mouthfeel. ABV to shake the hair off your head. Nice color.

    Picked this up earlier today. I love trying beers from Dogfish Head, but I don’t get the hype with this one and I’m not a fan of the Grateful Dead.[​IMG]
