We stock all versions of the Yeti (besides BA dammit), and I prefer the Belgian the most. Oak Aged is great but needs a little time IMO, and the Chocolate and Espresso are pretty intense on flavor for me. Still, solid beers and one of the only beers readily available in numerous variants.

Luckily, I now live two blocks from Great Divide in Downtown Denver. (I was a huge fan of Yeti before the move but even more so now that I can walk there and get some.) I'd consider Yeti to be one of the very best imperial stouts out there, especially if you count all of the various versions. (My personal favorite is the espresso oak aged). But I've never tried the $30 dollar oak aged version, which I hear is phenominal of course.

Totally agree on Yeti being more viscous, with a nice hop flavor balancing the roasted flavor.

Also, EOA Yeti vs FBS is like fresh coffee vs coffee brewed yesterday in my experience.
Not bashing FBS, I love that brew, but EOA Yeti wins every time for me.

Like their new glasses say. "I Believe"
Great beers. The whole yeti lineup is solid.

    Cheers!

Excellent stuff. First had Yeti about 6 or 7 months back. Bottle shop had 3 bottles, I grabbed one, loved it, and inspected to bottle. Found that it was a 2010. Went back, the other 2 were also 2010. Grabbed those as well. Then I found the variants. Tried/acquired all but the Espresso.

Found a 2009 on the shelf last year (regular Yeti). 'Twas fantastic with 2 years on it.

Great Divide pulled out of Michigan a bit ago and I still see Yeti all over the place with an inch of dust on the bottles

The Oak Aged version was the first I had and is what got me so into imperial stouts. All of these (in my market around $10) make me wonder why we spend so much time and money looking for some of the more limited releasees.

No, that is merely Oak Aged Yeti, not the Barrel Aged Yeti.

Really interesting to hear the opinions on this one since I've been running around with my hair on fire looking for things like Abyss and BCBS.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure those things are amazing as well and I've been lucky enough to acquire some, but the Yeti in several varieties are sitting at my local Giant Eagle as we speak.

I'm not that crazy because he did say Oak Aged and not Barrel Aged. Still need a drink to get my head right though!

Yeti, and all the variations thereof, are absolutely fantastic. Beer geek culture has been laser focused on any stout out of a bourbon barrel recently, but the Yeti variations are just as good.

Yeti is awesome, one of my favorites. Every time I buy an expensive barrel aged beer I always say to myself I would rather be drinking a Yeti. Thinkin of giving up on the bourbon barrel brews. Anyway, Yeti can be a bit hoppy fresh, but with a few months on it it smoothes out nicely.

No, that's the normal one, I'm not exactly sure how the other one (I think it comes in a bigger size too) is so much more. I think they use different barrels and age it longer. I'll see If I can figure it out.
