What beer are you drinking now? #2686

Avery Brewing Barrel-Aged Vanilla Bean Stout, this is a BBA Imperial Stout brewed with whole vanilla beans. Flavored Stouts (any style really) aren't my cup of tea but this was a gift and I'm drinking it. I find this brew to be drinkable. I know enough about beer to know that it's well made and if you like flavored stouts you should try this.

I spent the day getting day drunk and actually got a huge amount of work accomplished. This is my last one and I am done for the night, I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

 

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass not sure when it was canned, but I trust the source. Pours a very inviting yellow orange with a massive 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace as it slowly settles. 4.5

Smell is mandarin, pineapple, guava, hints of melon, blueberry, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, pineapple, guava, honey dew, blueberry, and apricot very juicy and balanced. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above medium, soft gentle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 8% ABV crazy drinkable but drinks like it should. 4.75

Overall this stuff is spot on Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo, and Warrior hops all playing nicely together. Excellent NEDIPA. 4.5 Cheers all. 4.5

I'm with you on this!! My eldest doggie came through her surgery with flying colors. Hopefully, she'll survive and I'll have another few years with her.

Nice chilly afternoon, about 58 and sunny, time for a Jai Alai. My oldest daughter that lives in New Orleans, boyfriends mother and two cousins were in the Miller plant yesterday during the active shooting, crazy. All safe and well but obviously shaken up.

 

Very tasty brew.

Beer # 2 - because - why not? It's almost Friday - made a special stop at Aldi on my way home today to pick this up - really good Irish stout and only $6.49 a 4 pk - a steal!



also picked up my obligatory 6er of Guinness too today....almost March!
