Kegs for sale?

    Nice. Pretty sure it will cost the brewery more than 40$ to replace.
    They also like SA and Zigenbock.

    I emailed Karbach and SA with the links. Hang em High.

    Assuming they got those from somewhere like Spec's, they must think paying a $30 deposit confers ownership. It doesn't. Who do they think is going to buy those anyway? Most homebrewers don't have the facilities to clean and fill a regular keg, no self-respecting brewery is going to touch them with a bargepole and no scrap metal dealer is going to cough up $40. I hope they get spanked hard.

    I've heard of people cutting off the tops and turning them into home brew equipment....when a 10 gallon stainless pot costs $100+ this appears at least an alternative

    It looks like it's only a 5 gallon keg. And homebrewers have been known to take the head off of it, clean it, and fill it.

    Except that "this" is stealing. This topic has been beat to death on a number of homebrew forums, and probably here too, but paying the deposit doesn't make the keg yours. Buying grey market from guys like the CL poster *should* make a person a bit uncomfortable.
