My first beer tonight is courtesy of @colby600. Before I jump in, I want to tell a quick story about how Bill was so generous to me when I first started trading (and still is). After only trading for a couple months, I heard from another person how great this new brewery Tree House was and he had someone he was trading with to get it. He connected me with Bill, and maybe a week later, I had a huge box of a mix of Tree House and other New England beers. I spent two or three weeks putting together a return package and at the time, I thought it was a great box, but looking back, I'm sure it was nothing compared to what he sent. He didn't care at all, and appreciated the effort. We've stayed in contact for maybe five years now, and he's one of two BA's I've met in person. He's definitely a true Beer Advocate.

Poured from a 16 ounce can. Pours a very cloudy dark yellow, almost orange with about two fingers of thick white foam. The foam took a bit to dissipate. Pleasant tropical fruit smell. I wish I could pull something more specific, but it still smells very nice. I get the malt at first, but the tropical fruit hits at the back end. Not too heavy, and not too sweet. It has a thicker feel, but in a soft way. Not something I would drink quickly, but not a tough drink either. Solid beer.

As I mentioned before, meditation helps immensely. But hearing how much great things you have going on, I know you'll do well, Ian.

    Beer two tonight from @colby600

Bill sent this one as my wife is slowly getting into stouts. She's not a fan of barrel aged stouts, so the milk stouts (especially chocolate) beers are her sweet spot.

Poured from a 16 ounce can. Pours a black (or very dark brown) with about a fingers worth of light brown foam. Smell is all chocolate. I don't get an alcohol smell at all. Cold, I get more of a cocoa taste, and as it got a little warmer, it started to taste a little thicker, and more fudge-like. I would say it has a medium mouth feel. Smooth, but not thin. Overall, it's as advertised. A solid chocolate milk stout.

I didn't make it north of Cairngorms National Park when I was in Scotland this past summer. I jealously drank in all of the photos you posted from further north. Sounds like I missed a chance at a fine Impy stout as well.I AM going to seek that one out. Thanks for writing it up.

So this is the Treehouse NBS... It's also the last NBS to sign up for NBS BIF #11. I don't know, is there a theme starting here? Or maybe I'm just jealous of these Treehouse offerings.

Happy CANtinuing New New Trail & Feeling Light-Hearted About Happoshu Beer Sunday (Week 784)!
New Trail BC in Williamsport (Bill Town), PA, home to the Little League World Series, has been prolific in their CANned beer out put since their opening. So much so that someone asked me "What's the other brewery/brewpub up there?" The OTHER?!? New Trail is the other, coming in well after long-established Bullfrog, which is where Charlie Schnabel of Otto's cut his teeth. Bullfrog's Edgar remains one of my all-time fave AIPAs, up there with Victory Hop Devil. Those were the two that really made me into the hophead that I am today. I now embark on what is to become an epic New Trail journey, beginning with:

I'm going to post these three (3) since while I plan to CANtinue, the next ones are all IPAs & they deserve a separate post.

You Brave Fuck!!!:joy: OMG you gave that beer an honest man's chance. And after 40 years. You are either the bravest man I have ever met, or the stupidest. I know you are not stupid, so I'm thinking a brave heart coupled with an adventurous curiosity, dogged dedication, and a keen sense for historical noteworthiness. And a pinch of crazy to boot. You R awesome.
