wait... WTF, they didn't even give a full 16oz pour of the can? OH does can pours of stuff but you get the entire can, as do other places that do this. What kind of shit business plan is that. As if I didn't already dislike this business

Magnify has really been trying to be the Other Half of NJ. A bunch of hoppy and/or sweet sours and bottles of high ABV pastry stouts.

Yeah....the let's post 5 "releasing soon" IG pictures to try to build up hype "releasing at X time for cans only" blah blah. Brix city did a similar thing, but seems like they have slowed down after a while.

Also OH hops are definitely head and shoulders above magnify.

I didn't say all, mostly, because yes it is mostly those two. Sure I get that's what sells. Tonewood doesn't just release an adjunct stout and hazy ipa every other week though. Maybe the last point is why I haven't felt any desire to go to kane recently, they're not catering to what I prefer, so I guess I'm in the minority by that logic.

I had a feeling this conversation would get out of hand fast haha

    Yeah, trying and failing lol.

Evil Twin NYC on the other hand basically came in and did just that except they're doing it the right way. My only qualm with them is the pricing but I have been consistently blown away by the quality of beer they've been distributing so I can't complain.

    it's a slow tuesday lol.

but yea - it makes perfect sense only to go to a brewery when they have beer that you want to drink. Like i'm not a big hefe fan - and if a brewery just put out 3 hefe's a week - I wouldn't go either, no matter how good they were.

Is ET NYC stuff hitting shelves? or is it just the "standards" jesus kinda stuff?

It's always fun to find a Grimm on the shelf, though I felt waffling with Kane was fairly MEH considering how good both breweries are.

This was my initial thought, but i'd assume no since they didn't say it and it would be a bitch to bring all that coffee to Brooklyn

5pm on a thursday shouldn't be too bad. A line - sure, but nothing close to taters or the OH 6th anniversary shit show.

I would assume these would last through until Fri at least. Being 6pp and all the hype boiz gonna go after those BA ones first.

A ton of their beers make it here to South Jersey. I’d name them all but the list would go on for pages because the names are so damn long. (That last sentence could easily be one of their beer names). Their pastry stouts make it down quite a but, as do their Sour IPAs (not a fan), DDH IPA/DIPA/TIPAs. I also grabbed their collab w/ Wren House a while back, a good amber lager called Rotsbier or something like that.

Right now I’m having “I CAN WALK PAST A GROWN MAN ON THE STREET, WEARING NOTHING BUT UNDERWEAR AND NOT EVEN NOTICE IT”. Despite the stupid name, the beer itself is good. I actually don’t really like TIPAs in general but I’d bit this up against a lot of the good hyped ones I’ve had like OH, EQ, etc.

I really wish they brewed this at Kane. Got a feeling it’s just going to be another overly sweet OH stout.

i'm hoping that they leaned heavily on the SB beer and just added some of their adjuncts in, add in the fact that it's "only" 13.5% which is fairly lower than OH's typical 15-16% stouts - it has some good potential.
