My son is going to be working in Lakewood, NY this summer. I am likely going to have the opportunity to go and visit (and likely haul furniture). Other than Southern Tier and Ellicottville, I don't know of anything. Yes, I Googled, but one never knows and I'd rather seek out some thoughts, recommendations, etc... So, what can you tell me...
Hate to tell you this, but buddy that is the single biggest beer desert in New York State. Outside what you mentioned (and Jamestown Brewing) there is not a damn thing I'm aware of out there. It's actually incredible how little is there compared to.... anywhere else in the state. You literally have to go all the way up to Buffalo or out to Erie PA before you're gonna find anything.
LMAO! At least he has Southern Tier and Ellicottville. Both have decent offerings. Could be worse I guess.
Hey - I appreciate the honesty. I've been to Erie and still have probably close to a dozen breweries that I've not been to there. And it's not that far. If I'm just in town to visit, may hit the ST, Ellicottville, and Jamestown and then see what else is about... Three breweries in a weekend isn't a bad trip...
Check out Four Mile Brewing in Olean if you have a chance. Really great building, good beers and not far from the best beef on weck at the Beef n Barrel.
Five & Twenty is about 30min. north, up by Lake Erie. Decent beer. They also are a winery and Distillery. Most interesting, they have a sustainable fish farm which uses the brewing waste. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/40441/ https://www.timberfishtech.com/ Some others I have not visited, and you may have found in your Google search... - Bent Run. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/52459/ - Big Inlet. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/56067/ - 7 Sins. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/51018/ Chautauqua Institution Is a particularly interesting place, not a beer destination. https://chq.org/
