You know I forgot this post from yesterday. I was there around 12:30. Could’ve met in person.

Oh man. Drinking a fresh Hop Showers. So good! Haven’t had an OH beer since last summer. Time away helps the appreciation for this place. Since it’s Saturday and I have a blessedly free weekend without youth sports, I’m planning on comparing Triple Orange Chroma and Triple Mosaic Dream later. Hope you all are enjoying Pastrytown (much more than @DrederickTatum anyway).

Can somebody explain to me, why every single beer from OH is a sugar bomb now? Doesn't matter what it is, it's fucking offensive. At this point, I'll take NJ breweries over OH any day now.

They’re not? Outside of Stouts I can’t imagine what you’d think is a sugar bomb. Broccoli Reserve is easily better than any IPA I’ve had from NJ just to talk about recent stuff.

Can’t agree with you on this one. In the midst of having four OH beers I picked up today. All very hoppy and delicious. But I will agree that I can live on and enjoy most NJ beers these days as well.

Just ignore the nonsense and take advantage of the fact that all the non pastry stuff is readily available. DDH ACE has lasted through the week and into the weekend.

Honestly I noticed it with All Cashmere Everything and forward.
Yesterday, I got Double Potato (it's really good up front [it's similar to the monkish collab last year] but it ends up being sweet), I got Cream Inside (it's a given that it will be sweet) and DDH Cheddar. All of them are on the sweeter side. I don't understand. I don't want to drink sugar. I don't buy their stouts anymore, because it's a given that everything tastes the same.

Avoid the pastry stouts and the tose and almost all the other stuff is not sweet.

Fest was fun. The “VIP” or whatever they call it is meh. Pretty sure they sold more tickets to that than GA.

I normally steer clear of the sugary stouts (especially OH) but I couldn’t resist getting the Kane Sunday Crunch collab. Have to admit I’m enjoying the hell out of it on this beautiful Sunday. Sipping on it while outside soaking in the rays.

I saw they have some left - as someone with a phd in beer would you say it is significantly different/better than their usual pastries? Or just a very slight departure from the norm?

Honestly I haven’t had that many bottled stouts from OH (a few for sure) but I do love Kane’s stouts and porters. I did like this one because I got mostly coffee and cinnamon instead of fake vanilla and sugar.
