They also had some other recent releases on keg list. Opulence opulence, triple mosaic, cream on the inside.

though I also saw small nelson. My memory bad - was that a recent release? If not could be a mid weeker

Now that my blood sugar has settled and the lactose has left my system, I can think clearly.

I didn't think the Pastrytown were too bad. Waited 20 minutes for a pour of Derivation at the side project line. Was able to get 4 or 5 pours from nearby booth's while waiting in line. Weldwerks, Monkish and Moksa all had no line early on. It got VERY crowded after early entry.

A couple favorites were New Park Triple Vanilla Macaroons Before Dying, BA Distractions Grasp, Eighth State Perihelion and Derivation of course.

While Three Chiefs always has a fun booth, I don't get they hype. Their beers a WAY to sweet.

I've been drinking a bunch of Triple Crossing lately and it reminds me a lot of OH 2-3 years ago. Hop forward, dank after taste, with light bitterness. Always enjoyed their IPAs, but am really enjoying more with overt sweetness being more than norm here.

Haven't had much Triple Crossing since last fall, but I really liked some of their offerings my friend has sent me

OK Stiffy - I braved the outside world for a bottle. If this doesn’t deliver I will permanently be out on double digit OH stouts, and will demote you back to mister in my head

Damn that’s a lot of pressure!
Edit: although the first part might not be so bad.

Meanwhile I just criticized Kane for a new pastry stout they’re releasing on Saturday. It has the unfortunate words “blood sugar” in its name.

OK I admit I’m enjoying it. I’ll still need to go on a 40 mile run tomorrow while wearing the Magnum XL BDErunstrap™️ - but this is good for a pastry

Allow me to insert myself into this conversation and say that as someone who rarely buys stouts from OH because I just haven’t been a big fan, Sunday Crunch was very enjoyable and a nice mash up between the two, if you’ve ever had Sunday Brunch. It drank more like a Kane porter to me than an OH stout. The “Crunch“ came through nicely while the rest of the beer drank like the Kane base porter. My only criticism was the feel lacked Sunday Brunch decadence, but that did not detract much at all from the great aromas and flavors.

Edit: I now see you’ve already tried it. I’ll see my way out of this conversation.

I really admire @RauchbierFan33's commitment to big ass pastry beers on a weeknight. As I have had and enjoyed the Kane Sunday Brunch line I grabbed a bottle to split with my buddy who supplies the Kane.

On a related note, I found the J Wakefield rum barrel stout tasted like they blended up Yahoo, Mounds, and Young's Chocolate Stout. So if that experiment has ever crossed your mind, you should hustle over to the taproom and have yourself a pour. Did not finish the 4oz taster because I am practicing "restraint".

Cleansing the palate from my four pack of Hop Showers and feeling like it was all a bad dream.

Did you mean Yoo-hoo? Blending the flavor of a mediocre search engine into a Stout sounds like a monumental task to me.

I’m sure nobody here cares but Forever Ever is getting some distro. Not sure I’ve seen any hoppy beer from OH in stores, so might be some kind of a milestone at least.
