Thanks man, that actually does shed a lot of light on things. I think it's a tough spot for both the consumer and you -- it puts a bit of a wallet crunch on the customers, and I think it bites you guys too since your beers seem to be held to a higher standard due to the price.

If it counts for anything, though, your post has really adjusted my perspective. I do hope you're eventually able to find a solution that can lower the end price without cutting into your bottom dollar, but in the interim, I'm definitely more likely to buy your stuff now.

Plus, I just appreciate that you had the balls to wade into this lion's den and answer our questions.

Why/How are you still in business?? I love your beers and usually use them to celebrate as they are just too much to buy everyday in my income bracket.

Have you looked into opening your own brewery using some of your brewer's recipes?

PS-don't take this the wrong way, I really do love your brews when I can afford them.

Are you serious or do we have yet another troll?

    This is really getting ******ed.

Being anonymous doesn't necessarily mean you have to act dumb as well.

Is this is a serious beer site or a place for lonely men to rant at the world?

This has been a great thread. It's always positive to hear all sides.

Just want to throw my support for ET and say thanks for being passionate and honest about what you do. I loved imperial biscotti break, but I can't always afford it. It's always best to have options though, especially creative ones like ET.

    Allrighty then.

So what part of this quote do believe is not a lie?

$10.49 for for a 11.2oz bottle? Are you kidding me? How much must this cost at a smaller bottle shop?" Then I notice its contract brewed brewed like four hours from here.

Where does a brewery get off putting import prices on import sized bottles that are brewed domestically?

Maybe the OP is your evil twin and is just trying to take your business down. I bet he looks just like you, but with a sinister mustache.

Mikkeller/Evil Twin is mediocre beer at very high prices. If you don't like it, don't buy it!

After reading this thread, and finding out what drives up the cost of Gypsy beers, I have learned one thing...

The Bruery and Nebraska Brewing Co. HAVE to be Gypsy brewed. Right?

Extremely forthright, hard-working person that has dedicated his professional life to craft beer vs. a group of uninformed, anonymous people that will likely never meet him in person, and even if they did would never say anything they said on the this internet message board?

Or, to put it another way: real life vs. the internet?

Real life always wins, but the internet never shuts up. Case closed.

lol @ your argument from authority (read: fallacy). At least Jeppe offered substantive answers to the OPs complaining.

lol @ your construing my post as an argument. I'm putting this thread in context with internet forums, which are often places for anonymous blowhards to be anonymous blowhards. That's not an argument.

If you think a 120-post thread in which a person responds to attacks on his personal financial decisions by anonymous people who don't know him doesn't fit that bill, I've lost hope.

    interesting read.

i'm sure the prices might be a little better in other areas than they are in philly, but i have to pass on these literally every time. i tried a couple glasses at bars to the tune of $7-9 per glass and that was it (the bottles are even more).

    Dear Jeppe,

I am posting this hoping it will not be deleted before you see it.

I am new to the industry and don't know all the ins and outs of the biz. When I posted the Evil Twin Makes Me Angry thread I wasn't aware that your 11.2oz bottle wasn't made at Westbrook. I also wasn't aware that your brews, even the ones made domestically, had to be sold to 12% first before being sold to other distributors. I sincerely apologize for my "rant" that was full of mis-information. If i could I would have deleted the post as soon as I recieved an enlightening message from Mike at Westbrook, who nicely explain the who importer thing. I did make a comment a couple of comments into the thread that I had learn I was upset about distribution and not your company, but that is not the point. I made a mistake(s) and want to extend this apology that everyone could see.

Please forgive my ignorance on the subject and the subsequent rant that was caused by it.

Jason & Todd, I know this isn't ecxactly beer advocate forum appropriate, but it would be cool if you would let this one slide through.
