Any idea on limits and Binnys availability? Not sure I want to go to a large gathering of people in a crowded environment in a months time.

Saw that Beer Temple just tapped Dosvidanya Vanilla Rye. Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone was so inclined.

As always, THANK YOU for your contributions and posts, Doug!

My issue with Binny's is their pricing compared to Revolution release pricing. Yes, they are a "for profit" company, and I'm sure the distributor needs their cut too. But Cafe Deth was $30 at the Taproom then $32.99 at Binny's, and Ryeway to Heaven was $30 then $33.99.
Of course, Deth by Plums was $40 at the Taproom then $37.99 at Binny's, so whatever...LOL!

Binny’s is getting the majority, but that’s spread out over a lot of locations. We’ll have an amount in the ballpark of say Strawberry Jacket at the taproom. My unofficial take is that while it will sell out, you’ll have a reasonable window to grab a 4-pack or two.

I had a birthday get together at Revolution (taproom on Kedzie) on Saturday. Got Smoque catered, had some workingman milds mixed in with a ten year beer. I think it was about 15 people or so, was a good time. Great option to consider for something like that, particularly if you need to rack up some #VIPpoints.

That does sound good. Did Rev set some tables aside for your group or did you just show up earlier to ensure you have the space you need?

We called and reserved 2 tables in advance. It's free, no minimum or anything either. It worked out really well.

We walked to Beer Temple afterward, so I'd say we hit 2 of my favorite places in Chicago. Only problem was, I woke up the next morning and became 40 with a hangover, whereas I was not 40 and not hungover before this endeavor...

Looks like Rev reposted the event, the old one might have been under Binny's?

Looking at the Thundertaker label of a coffin, it got me wondering, has anyone aged a beer in an oak coffin yet?

Hey Everyone - The organization who we raise money with our Spirit of Revolt release had to cancel their big fundraiser this weekend. This is a big bummer for them as they still badly need the support, so they're keeping the silent auctions going online. We donated a VIP experience at any one of our Deep Wood releases this coming year where you and 3 m̶u̶l̶e̶s̶ guests will get a behind the scenes tour with Marty to talk through the program on release day, and you will all get to skip the line and purchase an allotment. You pick the release!

Currently only at $100. Here is a link to the auction prizes:

My final rankings of the 2019/2020 Deep Woods series.

    1) Cuvee de Grace
    2) VSOR
    3) VSOD
    4) Deth Star
    5) Deth by Plums
    6) Ryeway to Heaven
    7) 10 Year Beer
    8) Straight Jacket
    9) Boss Jacket
    10) Cafe Deth

Honestly, Cafe Deth was initially higher up the chain, but it FELL THE FUCK OFF after a few weeks (in my opinion, of course). That's also kind of the fun with it...even Rev will tell you NOT to hold onto it, drink it now.

And yes, I realize I'm in the minority rating Cuvee de Grace so high. Out of my group of beer nerds, I'm the only one who likes it this much...they all put 10 Year Beer as #1, which is way off for me.

Biggest pleasant surprise: this is for sure the first time I've rated Deth Star over Straight Jacket. I really think they took a step forward on Deth Star this year. And VSOD was practically a revelation.

Biggest disappointment: Boss Jacket. I thought it was interesting & unique, but ultimately too boozy. Maybe my expectations were too high.

The fact that I loved the 9th rated beer this year pretty much sums up for me what I think of the Deep Woods series. See you in April!!
