At this point there's no way shit is sitting in barrels. I'd be surprised if everything wasn't bottled already.

I’ve spoken with brewery workers and brewers at 3Floyds many times over the years about Dark Lord Day barrel aged variants, and was repeatedly told they bottle 1-2 weeks before DLD. That beer is still in barrels right now.

 

In San Fran....Based on a report from a panel of epidemiologists, infectious disease and other experts at one of the more renown medical entities in the country......"40-70%" of the population will acquire coronavirus within the next year, with severity obviously ranging. Reporting number with regards to infections will increase exponentially over the next few weeks. Given this and the recent mandate from the governor of Indiana cited a few pages back....

My thought is, 3F may push ticket sales back or hold off for a week or two before deciding to either post sales or cancel the event altogether. I'd be surprised if tickets go on sale next week on the 21st, with a moderate to good chance a ton of refunds would potentially have to be issued in turn. Every business and enterprise around the country should operate with "every option is on the table" mindset....as this is an extremely fluid situation. We all just have to wait and see how it plays out. In the meantime...stay safe out there everyone and use common sense.

 

They wax, and in the past hand write bottle number and even silkscreen, bottles 1-2 weeks out? That seems risky in a variety of ways.

 

Would guess they sell anyway and any delay will be built in. Like a “accept any rescheduling” will be part of the fine print.

If it means anything (it doesn’t) in Illinois Pritzker told everyone no events with people in attendance until May 1st, so provided we avoid an Italy-esque outbreak(we wont) the fest should go off without a hitch.

I was planning on taking another tour of 3Floyds 4-5 weeks before this year’s DLD, with the plans of finding out more info, but we shall see if that can still happen.

 

But will they have time to transfer the beer to soy sauce barrels?

 

Just got an email that the Firestone Walker Invitational is postposed until June next year. Was scheduled for May 30. Can't see how DLD goes off on the 16th.

 

But in Cali, they can see China from their house...

Yeah, you're probably right. Still, they have to get rid of it somehow.

 

I'm not surprised they postponed ticket sales. The wording sounds like DLD itself is postponed, too. If they really mean that, I'm a little surprised they made that call right now.
